Super77 replied to the thread How Much Could I sell mine for?.
Resale value is based on supply and demand, not on what you’ve invested. That’s a good list but don’t assume you can earn back routine maintenance. That’s like extra credit just for doing your homework. Upgrades might be worth a little bit for...

Agreed. I think I got my $60 worth for a quick fix, but this is like applying makeup, not really a repair. The center armrest, which was abraded, is actually holding up nicely, but it does not get a lot of wear. The seats get stretched and...

Super77 replied to the thread DIY Channel Strut Roof Rack.
Oh, that’s a nice low cost solution that keeps the rails but improves on the s***ty crossbars! Looks like $35 a pair, so a triple crossbar setup with 1x2 black aluminum T-rail and hardware gets me right near my $300 budget. Now if @nakman can...

Not offhand but the large front ones are ~$200 last time I checked. I doubt it will be cheap. This one looks like mine, might want to verify the holes with the seller. Also, totally jealous of your diesel Hilux! Forbidden fruit here.

Super77 replied to the thread DIY Channel Strut Roof Rack.
This is a nice alternative DIY approach. It does require stripping down to the bare roof, but if the pricing hasn’t crept up too much, might get me to my goal. Interested in more ideas like this.

Quick feeler since I’m certainly not the first to think of this: I want to be able to use channel strut (aka Super Strut or Unistrut) with the stock roof rack rails. This stuff: Why? - The factory rails are decent but the cross bars are...

AFIK the sunroof drains into the lower rocker panels and the hose is a much bigger diameter. At least, that’s where water drips out when I test the drains. I do like the evap system hose theory, though. I’ve actually been having some...

The PO was not the modification type, he owned it for 23 years and went to the dealership for anything more complex than changing the wiper blades. Truck was 100% stock when I got it, so I believe this is a factory hose.

    Never had air bags AFAIK

Not positive, but they appear the same material and diameter and the ends reach each other. Different breaks, though.

Where are we? Drivers side (US) rear corner, behind the wheel, looking up. Small hose, about 3-4mm diameter, seems have been clipped to the frame, now broken. What is it? Importance?

This. The OEM has a long and a short side, not sure about the Gates though. Measure first, cut second.

Ended up doing just the radiator + hoses, will come back to the timing belt. Had to get the job finished in time for a trip, and having never done a TB on this engine, wanted plenty of time. I can now see how it would be easier (but not required)...

I'm experiencing similar, just posted about it in ANOTHER thread on the exact same topic. As @OEMGUY0720 suggests above, summer exposes this issue. I'm not an expert on the topic, but @2001LC 's thread on it is a great place to start. What I...

I think I have one that I took off when installing an ARB bumper. If you are still looking, I'll check to see if I still have it. It's from an 2002 LX470 but should be the same.

Hey, thanks! If the fittings look good I will take them! PM incoming... Thanks a ton! Sounds like Jack above has me covered but maybe I could talk you into pulling the fittings out before tossing the radiator, if not for my use, at least to keep...

I have a just-replaced OEM rad that I’m about to toss. Fittings look good. LMK if I can help, trash goes out Thursday AM.

Super77 replied to the thread New key flashing nightmare. SOS.
First, never let people like that anywhere near your vehicle. Quick change oil, mobile detailing, mobile keys, windshield repair in a parking lot tent… but you know this already. :deadhorse: Second, don’t give up so easily chasing them down. You...

Resurfacing this thread. I’m still trying to source one of these “raptor claw” OE tow hooks, in case anyone has one available. They’re fairly rare apparently and like >$200 new. I’m 90% sure that aftermarket recovery points won’t work with a...

    1. I’m no mathematical genius, but 7,800 [checks his notes] is more than 6,500. I don’t think the weight limit is a suggestion. 2. If you’re asking “has anyone attempted it,” I guarantee the answer is yes. While someone held their beer, even...

That’s a beauty. Cherry on the sundae would be a clean Carfax. Bundle that with your black stone report and some service records, and you’ve got a seller’s trifecta. Check classic.com for an auction market analysis, that will help you with...
