who needs a tree!

I'll be bringing a couple of Longwell chocolate cakes for the pot luck. and a pot of 15 bean soup. anybody playing the Hammock game. I've got a couple of extra stands for no tree areas.

Leaving ABQ today for SLC, Duchesne , then Rabbit Valley Monday night. Tuesday Pot luck I'm going with Carne 4qt cooker could use cheese and tortillas with it.

OK the idea of Heat retention cooking, hay box cooking, wonder oven, Thermal cooking(well all cooking is thermal) has been around for ages. I ran across it as Saratoga Jack's Thermal cooker $120. Well I'm thrifty so I'll make my own that will work while wheeling. I've done 21 experiments so far...

2 more pots of beans today. Both successful. What I learned. "Old" beans will cook in a pressure cooker for an hour and get soft. New beans soaked overnight will cook fine in the Heat retention cooker aka insulated box. Get new beans for trip.

Fail!!! opened it up 5pm temperature 170 degrees good. But the beans are still hard. You wouldn't starve but not good eating. So pressure cook for 30 minutes and see if that helps.

Went to fix my coleman last night. Went to 5 stores in ABQ no generators for colemans. So I went online have 2 coming next week.
