This thread was helpful so I thought I'd record my experience.
Background - My truck had recent maintenance (lots of old hoses replaced among other things) to include a new radiator.
Symptoms - After driving, puddles of Toyota Red on the ground under the coolant overflow tank; empty overflow...
In the interest of adding to the sample size - I've owned my 97 LX450 since 2010 and I've got about $16,500 in purchase cost and necessary repairs/upkeep....and another $4500 in "unnecessary" additions/expenses :)
If you're on this site enough, it is very difficult to avoid "unnecessary" expenses.

Don't have much to say that hasn't already been said on this site, but after reviewing my 97 LX450 cost spreadsheet my "must spend" costs on non-mod, non-pm items stands at about $2500 including parts and labor. These are items that would have stranded me or made life difficult to continue using...
I’ve been on this forum for a few years and have taken advantage of member knowledge on numerous occasions so I figured I’d contribute, albeit in a small way, to the information base. I’ve had a floppy driver’s side-view mirror for years and finally got tired of shoving paper in the hinge to get...
Nick or anyone else with wiring knowledge,
My LX has the upgraded light harness from Slee as well as the auxiliary light harness. I'd like to hook up the 22" light bar to the aux harness and run it with the high beams based on how I installed the harness. The plan was to cut the pigtails off of...
Paul,
The lights for my LX450 arrived in good shape to my home address last week and are now on their way to PR. I'll get a photo or two once everything is installed. Thanks again!
Thanks to everyone for the advice/comments. I am meeting with a guy tomorrow who has a shop and is involved in the LC community down here so hopefully he'll be able to take care of my installation needs. It's not as if this was a major set back, it was more of a let-down as I had wanted to try...
To those who stated I would gain room with the tires mounted - thank you. That's good info if I go back. I showed the guy a picture of Romer's LX when it had 285s and no lift. The guy just looked at it and said it was different.
Costco wouldn't have been my first option, but their price was...
I agree. I think my suspension is shot and unfortunately, I'm dependent on a shop to install everything as my apartment doesn't have space for wrenching. I was expecting the tires to fit with plenty of space. I guess they should have if the stock suspension was still stock height.
On a side...
