I made similar tranny and axle swaps on my '63, and they were worthwhile. Dunno about the 2F engine, though. Not much you can do to them to get back the F engine power.

Did we ever see a VIN? My early 63 had the black speedo and idiot lights. And the older door handles. #13034.

Door latches are correct for early '63, with hard to find bakelite knobs on lock. As are the charge and oil pressure lights.

Do you have the rear sway bar? Where is the spare tire holder, either under bed or at rear tailgate? Where did you find that color? Why are all the screw heads and fixtures painted? Do you have the original interior door handles? Why is it undercoated?

Correct about the rear diff and the inside door handles. I switched to the more modern latches (handle pointing down) because of a lot of wear on the latch mechanism, but I missed the up-pointing handlers. Much easier to open the door, since the older short cabs have you sitting more forward...
