    Help Needed

+1 for NOVA Speed Shop, they just did some work on my 60, the guy I spoke to in the office also has a 60 and in the shop were several old muscle cars, so they're not afraid of classic cars/carburetors. Also several nice Japanese diesel Land Cruisers in the parking lot, they work on all kinds of...

Only max cold or max heat - 2007

To follow up on this, finally found time to deal with it and based on @TJS8040 and @Rix 45 posts opened up the panel where the temp sensor is and the black wire was disconnected. Didn't have any MAF cleaner on hand, so just reconnected it without cleaning the actual sensor and works perfectly...

Thanks, it was on a battery tender, I think started occasionally but not driven.

Only max cold or max heat - 2007

2007 100, AC blows cold when set on max cold, but as soon as I go up one step, to 65 degrees, it blows max heat, no matter what the temp says. Very strange, since both AC and heat are working well, but all full on heat except when set at max cold. Have a decent local shop but they are not...

    Scored 2007 LC w/174K AHC

I'm the lucky purchaser. Flew from the DC area to Denver Thursday night with my wife, did the deal with 2001LC first thing Friday, then we started driving east. Long first day to KC MO, then another longish day to Indy (Indy 500 weekend!). Last two days more relaxed, dropped off the...

    Cars and coffee 2017

I have a 60 and I'm tempted, though my truck is a daily driver and far from a thing of beauty at the moment. Where are you meeting up?

    Official For Sale/Trade/WTB/Free Thread

Looking to buy a 2007 100, ideally galactic grey mica to match my gray '87 60 (below) but would be willing to consider black garnet pearl. Under 200K and in very good mechanical shape and up to date service. Cosmetic inside and out not so important, willing to have minor dents/scratches and/or...

oil pressure spiking - what's up?

Thanks guys. PF, I've had the fuel guage/temp gauge spiking thing for a while now. Only happens once in a while, and it freaked me out the first time I saw that temp guage peg, but then I did a search here and saw it was a known issue. This is the first time for the oil pressure, though. I...

oil pressure spiking - what's up?

Thanks Haryv, that's good to know at least I'm not the only one. What's weird is that I've had it 4 years and have put about 25K miles on it and it never did it (or at least I never noticed it) before. Anyone else? -Scott

oil pressure spiking - what's up?

Hi all: I did a search on oil pressure and oil pressure gauge but didn't see anything very helpful, so here goes: My 87 FJ60 sat (in a heated garage) for about 5 weeks while I was on a combo vacation/work trip. When I got home a few days ago I started it up and within a couple of minutes...

    Snorkel question

I've got Safari Snorkle on my '87 60. Paid for itself a couple of weeks ago when I got stuck in a river in central Mongolia (see pic). Although the water eventually got just about to the top of the hood on the right side, and about a foot deep inside the car, I was able to run the engine to...

    2 person inflatable kayak

I bought an inflatable from http://theboatpeople.com. They are in San Jose, CA, but ship anywhere. Their kayaks are here: http://theboatpeople.com/iks.html. They have high quality stuff, so it is spendy, but I have been very happy with the Inova Sunny (two person inflatable kayak) I bought...

    Expedition websites/magazine

I like http://www.horizonsunlimited.com. It was founded by round-the-world motorcyclists but now include all kinds of vehicles. The forums (http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi) have excellent advice on expedition travel and tech, and they have a regular e-zine...

    Advice on bent u-bolts

Glad you guys like the photo. That's a pretty typical landscape for Mongolia. A few yaks in the background and lots of open space. Great country for off-road driving. -Scott

    Advice on bent u-bolts

Thanks for the advice, guys. I'll order myself some new ubolts and spring plates, or maybe the MAF flip set. Keeping my 60 in good running condition here in Mongolia is often a challenge, since parts and expertise are both in short supply. Here's a shot from 2 weeks ago, stuck in a river in...
