The drawback of mounting a powerful LED lightbar on the roof rack is that it's very close to your eyes: in snowy/foggy/dusty weather you'd be mostly blinding yourself. So whether it's good or not depends on your weather: If you have clear dry air then it should be OK, otherwise think it through...
