    Blower resistor for LX450

I got it off EBay. It’s not like there were a bunch to chose from. It may have been the only one in the US. My next step was going to be local junk yards.

    Blower resistor for LX450

It’s not hard to get to. The resistor is the one that’s kind of a pain. Remove the glove box and you’re pretty much there.

    Blower resistor for LX450

Yes. All I had working before was high speed. I replaced the blow resistor first and that got me low speed, and the middle two settings working at low speed as well. The AC amplifier got the middle two working at appropriate speed. I’ve seen two different parts called amplifier. The one I’m...

    Blower resistor for LX450

Success! All speeds are working after replacing the second part. Had to go with the LS400 version and change out the harness. Odd those two got out together. Maybe once the resistor fails, it shorts out something in the circuit board for the amplifier. Thanks for all the help.

    Blower resistor for LX450

So this may be what you were referring to before with having to replace the amplifier too. In addition to high which was already working, now low works too, but the two middle settings just blow same amount as the low setting. Is that what you experienced after replacing the resistor?

Okay, I got it in there now. I little bit of this corner had to be filed off.

    Blower resistor for LX450

So I got the resistor part in the mail today. I’ve got the old one out. The ceramic around it was broke and brittle so the old came out okay, but I can’t seem to get the new one in. The angle just won’t allow it. Is there another part that needs to come out, or how did you all get it in there? TIA

This little Icon ratchet set from Harbor freight is perfect for getting the resistor out. Fits right in the and screws came out no problems.

    Blower resistor for LX450

My main objective to fix the blower function. I don’t typically use the climate control setting. Did this part fix the middle settings to work for the blower operation? Appreciate all you feedback. Any tricks on getting that sucker out of there?

Okay, so is that the rock auto part? When I input the vehicle in advance autos site it says the part on their site doesn't fit.

Does anyone know if the Land Cruiser part number 87168-60220 will work for this on the Lexus. The 60230 part number appears unobtainable.

I'm dealing with the issue of high only setting working on AC controls. Sounds like the likely culprit is the blower resistor. Any suggestions on how to get something on those screws to get that sucker out and do you have to discharge the system or anything like that before removing and...

    AC Cooling unit removal

so update on this situation. Medium settings stopped working again. Removed AC amplifier and cleaned contacts. Still not working. Ordered a used AC amplifier and put it in. Still not working. So unless both amplifiers were bad, doesn’t appear to be the amplifier.

    AC Cooling unit removal

Oddly enough, all speeds were working on the drive in this morning. All I did this weekend was pull the glove box and the AC amplifier to see that the resistor was in a spot where I couldn’t pull it without pulling the cooling unit. Got on here and then buttoned everything back up when I...

    AC Cooling unit removal

It seems like the typical setup is all speeds go through the resistor except high. It’s a pretty common issue with all kinds of makes and models. There’s a couple other examples on here of it being the resistor. I figured I would change it out and see, but can’t seem to find the part anywhere...
