    Shocks for a lifted HJ61 ?

I've got a lifted (not sure how much, probably 3") 1987 HJ61, and the front shocks are shot, as in dripping oil shot. I can't tell what kind of shocks they were, any lettering is long gone (aside from "made in mexico" and "do not open", which are stamped at the bottom), but the measurements are...

    For Sale 1981 BJ42, $6000 (Creston, BC)

more details I've owned it for just over 3 years, bought it from a kid in Delta. It was originally red, then somebody painted the thing inside and outside with that black undercoating. I repainted it red with a white roof by hand because it was like an oven in there even in March, nevermind...

Freeborn Red in Vancouver BC ?

Where does one go about finding Freeborn Red in Vancouver BC? Any particular paint store you'd recommend? What am I looking at in terms of price for a couple of gallons for brush on? Is there a off-the-shelf paint (Tremclad, Rustoleum, etc) that closely matches Freeborn Red?

    egads, this can't be good

It seems to run in H2 OK, don't know about H4, how would I test for that? I put the emerg brake on, put it in first, jacked up the passenger side front wheel, and discovered that whether in H2 or H4, the wheel turns freely without moving the front propeller shaft unless *both* front hubs are...

    egads, this can't be good

I've got no resistance when moving from H2 to H4 in my '81 BJ42. Good resistance moving from the H4 position into neutral, but it just flops between H2 and H4. Does this mean my transfer is kaput?

high idle and scary vibration in 3rd gear

OK, so now I've got a new diaphragm ($37 + tax, Fred Holmes Fuel Service, Richmond BC), and am now contemplating the task before me. Man, that is in an awkward spot. Do I have to remove the EDIC? If so, where would I find instructions on doing that?

high idle and scary vibration in 3rd gear

Ah, OK, 2nd Thursday of May, which would be the 13th. OK, I'll try to make it.

high idle and scary vibration in 3rd gear

The vibration does go away if I step on the clutch. It tones down a lot if I put it into 4th. I'd attach audio files of the idle speeding up and the sound of the vibration, but it appears that .wav or .mp3 files aren't aren't allowed. I am indeed in the GVRD. When/where is the next club meeting?

high idle and scary vibration in 3rd gear

Trying to attach pictures, let's see if this works. The grey on the roof is mine, in preparation for painting it white (if the rain ever lets up, that is). The black stuff is... well, nobody's quite sure, the consensus seems to be truck bedliner. It's rough stuff, and a finishing sander only...

high idle and scary vibration in 3rd gear

I thought at first that it might have been the right-rear tire, which turned out to have had a nasty gash on the inside wall, so I swapped the entire set of 33"'s for a set of 30"'s that the previous owner had thrown in, but the condition persists. I had North Shore 4x4 run a pre-purchase check...

high idle and scary vibration in 3rd gear

After a hiatus of around 5 years, I'm the owner of a '81 BJ42 again. Amongst the usual things (transfer seals, rust galore, and an, um, unusual paint job), there are two things that really concern me: 1) About 10 minutes after running, my '81 BJ42's idle begins to climb. 2) There is a scary...
