What a coincidence. Happened to me to (PAX side). $30 (tax + shipping) ordered at the dealer. Drove it in and the technician pryed it out and snapped in the new one in a couple of minutes. Quite a few clips in there. Just watch out when you pull out the bottom part of 'C' trim plate as it...
Amazing! Puts life into perspective here and how lucky we all are everyday you live. Absolutely floored to hear everyone walked away .. a testament to the engineering gone into these cars. I have a feeling the pre-collision magnified the effect of the brakes and by the time the impact actually...
There were major recalls on this item. Just do a GOOGLE search on "Toyota spiral cable recall". Unfortunately, the Land Cruiser is not listed as an affected vehicle but these components are shared up the wazoo and your described symptoms point exactly to that which is described in the recall...
I picked up on this thread tonight .. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/tsb-for-steering-wheel-vibration-lc-lx-differences.806752/
I have a new 2014 LC (got it with 28 miles on the odo .. now around 750 mi). There is a slight steering wheel resonance (not really a vibration i'd say) exactly...
For what it's worth .. unless you were in the assembly line (and that too the day your rig was built) you really don't know what your unit has. All the references are HL guides as to general intent of the supply chain and I bet there is no post production audit on each unit to guarantee that...
I am going to go on a limb here and say that it actually may be a "good" thing to have the AB60F sourced in the US. While I know there is a pervasive feeling that Japanese cars are better "put together" (and to a degree it is probably true) but what really sets Toyota apart in terms of...
The sticker is removed before delivery to the customer so technically once you drove the car out of the dealer lot it won't be there. The best way is to go back to the dealership and see the sticker for any new cars on the lot yet to be sold. The reference I sent out will tell you the contents...
SW .. I didn't see that. I saw that the LC had a USA sourced transmission and the LX 570 was Japan sourced (based on the 2014 document). Interestingly, on the same site if you pull up the 2015 document it shows both the LC/LX transmissions are Japan sourced (i.e. 100% Japan). Did they change...
.. to add it does also state that the LC transmissions are US sourced (same as Tundra/Sequoia) and the LX 570 are Japanese sourced. My original understanding was that both the platforms use the Aisin-Warner AB60F 6-speed units. It does seem extremely odd that the two rigs that are built right...
New to the forum here .. (introductory new owner email still pending .. so I apologize in advance if I am breaking protocol). In reference to the discussion take a look @ http://www.nhtsa.gov/Laws+&+Regulations/Part+583+American+Automobile+Labeling+Act+(AALA)+Reports
Interestingly it does note...
