If the copper is intact, my guess is that’s not your issue. But do tape up those splits if copper is OK. Those switches go bad, pull it out of the door and troubleshoot the switch. Take the door card off and see whats happening in there..sometimes the motor gets loose and jams when energized...
That slot actually holds two identical filters. They lock together sort of to make one big filter. You insert the first one and it should drop down and only be partially visible. The second one then slips into the slot, the upper edge of the lower (first) filter mating with the lower edge of...
I put Morel separates in my front doors. Had to work the tweeter location a bit and then hot glued the driver in the plastic triangle. In my opinion, fixing the original one (that was a POS when new), is false economy if you want superior fidelity. Crutchfields is your answer.
I replaced my rear hatch weatherstrip not too long ago. It was an easy job. The old one peeled right out. Clean the metal like a maniac (the ridge the seal rides on), use the correct sealant, and work the new seal on a section at a time. The sand I was seeing in the bottom of the hatch no...
Replace the speakers. The current ones have been shaken and rattled and subjected to dirt and dust for 20 years. Couple that with the fact they were a POS when new and there is no good reason not to replace them.
I use these guys. The are so reasonably priced, you could replace them every 2 to 3 years.

support the hatch while you change them!
not sure if I cut and pasted properly, but this thread has a lot of heater related observations and tips.

Pull out the DVD player and get your meter in there and snoop around. I replaced the aftermarket DVD in mine with the factory domelight. The DVD provided crummy light and I never ever used it. While at it, I did replace some bulbs with LED, big difference in amount of light available.
Holes line up, you need slightly longer screws though. You’ll need to caulk or hot glue some small irregularities in the housing to get a good seal around the new sub driver. I wired mine as a dual voice coil. Curious if the 8 ohm variant would have been a better choice. Sound is way better...
I over wrapped my steering wheel in black. Used the factory looking baseball stitching pattern too. It looks great. Thread with photos on here somewhere. You‘ll need clean leather gloves for grip, a thimble of sorts, roll of painters tape, and the wrap kit. Actually one of the more...
I put this same Skar sub in my 2007. It sounds a ton better than the factory one. I meticulously replaced all the panel snap connectors and got all the rattles out. With my stock head and amp, but MB Quart separates in the front doors, and two ways in the rear doors, my system sounds pretty...
