When I was a kid in the mid 70s they were building the last few lots on my dead end street. It seemed like all summer but I'm sure it was only a few weeks. But anyway that series of sounds went on non stop it seemed. bam, bam, BAM! 1, 2, 3 over and over.

Did pretty well on the opening day for the season. Heathkit HW16 and HG108. Look barely used. Literature included indicates a 1973 build. Should just flip them for the quick buck as I don't do CW but for the little investment I might as well keep them around. It will be awhile...

It's a little different if you're building with seasoned Ash. Using an approximately 25 y/o Porter Cable 30' nailer that has little actual use. If they even make them anymore I doubt they are what they used to be tho.

Since this thread has been bumped....my Massimo went camping with me in September and has been running in the house nonstop keeping beer cold. Zero issues so far.

Benzforce has some pretty cool turn key stuff right now. Holset turbos with adapters, DieselMeken pump upgrades. Lots of potential especially that you have the IC. Can all be done after you get it on the road of course.

I'll go out to the barn and take a look later....haven't stuck my head in there in 9 months. But I'm thinking they are "insert molded" meaning the steel is placed in a mold and the plastic shot in around it....meaning no way its coming apart. I'll verify that.

It's a shame the Emerald Ash Borer came and killed all these trees. So many of them were so nice.

Also watch transmission type - Auto vs. Manual. Wire harness and ECU would be different.

If you Google "Harbor Freight stud welder manual" you can see their slide hammer with the little stud grippy thing.

The Harbor Freight stud welder comes with the puller tool. Maybe the piece that grips the little stud can be bought as a replacement part from HF? Don't know what the thread form on it is without getting the tool out.

I see you have a budget....but short answer - all of them. Like when an artist dies the value of all their work goes up. They ain't making any more. It would be pure financial speculation to buy parts hoping they will go up in value...but they likely will. So stuff that will not be...
