    Tongue weight question

Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it. Looking back, that "unloaded" weight was actually the LX with gear loaded (we only take 200-250 lbs tops in the LX cargo area). I recall the fresh water was full when we weighed it. Normally I would only fill it 1/4 for use on the road. The problem...

    Tongue weight question

Looking for some constructive ideas and feedback on my set up. I have a 2015 LX 570 pulling a 23' Airstream (International Serenity) using an Equalizer WDH. I can add one more washer to the Equalizer and am hoping that would be enough to push some more weight to the front axle. Ideas or...

Questions for those towing travel trailers with 2016+ LX570

Appreciate your response. Thanks. Do you "know a guy" in the Atlanta area that does a good job with hitch set ups. The Airstream dealer is doing the transfer from the 22 to the 23, however in case it doesn't feel right I would love to have a Series 200 (towing) expert fine tune my set up...

Questions for those towing travel trailers with 2016+ LX570

I have a 2016 LX570 currently pulling a 2019 Airstream 22' Sport with a 4,500 GVWR (dry weight 3,634), tongue weight 422 lbs. using an Equalizer hitch set up (1,000 lb). It tows great with zero sway. I'm looking at upgrading to a 2017 Airstream 23' International Serenity 23D. It has a tongue...

    LX570 Tow Report

Thanks for your response. Appreciate it! Looking at the numbers can I assume my tongue weight is the difference between my rear axle weight of 3940 less the stock rear axle weight = 860 lbs? Or am I not looking at that correctly?

    LX570 Tow Report

Last evening I took the LX/Airstream combo to a CAT scale. If you would, help me think through the result. The front of the LX weighed in at 3280 lbs., the rear LX axle AND trailer (on same scale) came in at 7,520 lbs. combined. I went through a 2nd time and weighed just the trailer - it came...

    LX570 Tow Report

Weight bars are 1,000/10,000. The replacement shank I found is a Curt brand 12" long x 8 3/4" drop with a 13" rise. With the 2" or so cut off from the bottom of the shank, it is flush with the bottom of the assembled hitch. It's still lower than I would like, however much better than it was...

My LX has the 21" tires if that makes a difference. BTW - I found good information on the Equal-i-zer® Hitch | The Original Sway Control Hitch website. They have a calculator using key measurements from the LX and the Sport. Looks like I need a different length shank.

For Sale Most recent 200 Series purchase prices

This week I purchased a 2016 LX570 at a South Carolina Lexus Dealer (L-Certified), $56,300, 49,123 miles on it. The salesman stated I got "the deal of the century". Not sure of that, but it seemed like a pretty good deal compared to other non-certified vehicles currently on the market. Before...

    LX570 Tow Report

Thanks so much for the information. The hitch head does have a drop shank. After I adjust things I'll consider the lift (although I might want to keep the AS stock in hopes of upgrading to a 23 or 25 Globetrotter within the next couple of years). Any other towing tips related to the LX would be...
