If a Load Equalizing Bridle is available then why not use it? It just spreads the load across both points. There is no downside to using it whatsoever. You will have to unbolt the radiator and slide it up just a hair then drop it back down. It's not difficult at all and doesn't require messing...
You can't and that's why you have to cut the factory points off. The later models (mine is an 09) are indeed different. I just cut mine off with a dremel and applied some paint to prevent rust.
Honestly I would have cut my factory points off anyways. If your bumper is trimmed they look rather...
Gobi easily has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. You better hope its not damaged or anything when you get it. Getting it though is the problem. Shipping times are all over the map but out to 3-6 months is not uncommon with them.
Gobi is being a real PITA and I'd like to just buy one from someone that maybe ditched it. Hoping someone had it and then went to steel bumper or something.
Hit me up PM. I'm willing to pay shipping to TN.
I'm not the designer of either product but I do use the TOO points and it was suggested by him to use a load equalizing bridle such as the one linked below for pulls to more evenly disperse the load. I'm not sure if that answers your question or not.

I understand your reasoning for wanting to design the strongest product that you can and I understand how you use a particular metal and hardware grade to do that.
I find it hard to agree with the idea though. We know that there is always and will always be a failure point. If enough force is...
I don't care about cutting your limb down. Stand out there all you want. It's not about the product of T.T as I'm sure it will be a great one. I do know where I want my failure point at though.
I will however speak my peace in that I believe the things you stated and continue to state about...
That's understandable if all the facts are provided but they weren't. You implied that the Treaty Oak product was a copy so you were also doing a little bit more than stating an opinion. It was stated as well that nobody in the US but ARB had grade 50 steel which is incorrect. Treaty Oak points...
I have the Treaty Oak points along with most people on GXOR. I can stand behind the fact that they are a outstanding product and are designed with the GX in mind. I'm not familiar with Trail Tailor at all but I'd be careful about stating that one product is stronger than the other without 100%...
Yea of course. They know where the problem is. They just called and said they had to order some type of "plug" that would be here tomorrow. He expected it to be about $400 all in.
Well it is a pain in the ass job. There is a reason why I'm not doing it. Hahah. I dropped it off at 8:00 am and I haven't heard anything from them. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.
I cut several wires with a drillbit on accident while installing a switch. It killed my rear A/C, ABS and all...
I took in my GX this morning for some wiring work to repair damage that was done to the main wiring harness underneath center console. I asked him to call me and update if it was going to surpass two hours labor. Service Advisor (who I despise but keep getting assigned to) told me that they have...
