I knew that was coming! Still factory fastened on the rears, high strength bolts and steel. Yeah, maybe a little less strength than OEM but isn't that what air bags and shoulder belts are for? ;) At least I'm comfortable.

Mobile locksmith did mine with a new key brain and some master and valet spares. Think it was around $$250 and an hour.

I recently replaced speakers in the front doors. Cloth on speaker covers looked awful. Removed the cloth and sprayed with Rustoleum Hammerite in a silver closely matching the grey door upholstery. Looks great and easy enough since I had the door cards off anyway.

'03 LC. Driver's window non-functional and passenger front window works only from master (driver's) switch but not its own door. Driver's window button blinks constantly, all others solidly lit. Brand new (aftermarket) switch panel. Fuses checked and good. I tried some things in these repair...

Hmmmm. I had only mechanical keys that would open the door but not start the car. No transponder or remote keys when the locksmith re-jiggered everything.

I did not have my master key, that I am aware of.

Older thread I know, but thought perhaps my experience would be helpful. My son somehow lost the guts (not the key itself) to the one transponder key I had to my 2003 LC. Of course I couldn't find the valet key either. I found a mobile locksmith in Seattle who specializes in car keys. For $125...
