Thanks for the feedback. The black thing under the rear reflector is a grommet from what used to be a spare fuel tank (removed before I got it). The mirror thing is the result of an active 9 YO daughter. So after checking the net today I came across a bumper 3/16" advertised at JT Outitters...

So now I need a winch mount plate...can anyone recommend an on-line retailer?

Thanks for all of the input! Based on what I learned I'll keep it original...maybe get one that has "LAND CRUISER" embossed on the top portion.

My headlamp bezel needs replacement & I was considering changing out my '78 FJ40's with the 80's model "square" type. It appears that new holes would have to be drilled. Besides that is there any other concerns as far as fitment?
