Thanks for the tips and anecdotes. All very helpful tips.
I was leaning towards aluminum and then topping off with rage evercoat (if I ever get around to doing anything about the body). I’ve got some friends with some hammer and dolly skills, but understanding where to cut reliefs and...
I couldn’t agree more. This community is unlike most automotive communities I’ve been involved with. I’ve tried to make a point to purchase at least something from each of the active vendors here (I still think I have at least 1 I haven’t purchased anything from, and that’s Georg..but I hear his...
I received something quickly from him (which had not been my experience in the past) about a month or two ago.
I texted him some photos he requested and he called me and we talked for over an hour until his phone died.
He’s never been quick to respond, ship, etc. Interesting that he’s gone.
I overlooked this place. Did the loop in cades cove when my nephew visited a few weeks ago. No top + windshield down. Saw some bear cubs playing and tons of deer.
Sorry to hi-jack, but I’ve got an early cluster (1967) and couldn’t repair my odometer. The gears are metal and have ground smooth. Is that something you can repair?
Have a pair of exterior side mirrors that were in an SOR box for a 76-84. Heads are made in Taiwan. Will need mounting hardware (for the head to the arms), but I’ll toss in my old mounting studs for the body.
$60 shipped
Also have an ignition coil from cityracer for a ‘78-‘80 (corresponds to...
Man. I need to find this. My ‘78 was found under a lean to where it lived for 30+ years. Sitting for at least 10. The rodent urine is like glue, smells terrible, and heated with a torch…whew.
This is on my list of things to do, but I’ve got a 2F + 4sp in a ‘67 so I don’t have the clearance without removing the motor mounts and jacking up the front so that I can get the drum off.
How did you sear the seal? Did you use any FIPG on the washer/ nut?
The early ones had the ignition switch on the dash. The later columns (~1972) had the the switch in the column. Possibly some kind of re-body or column swap situation.
2 years ago, my transfer case indicator switch crumbled to pieces when I was ripping out my harness. I tried repairing mine and even bought a broken one off of someone to repair it, but working with epoxy ismt my forte.
@ToyotaMatt now has a suitable replacement for those of us with the early...
It’s just a $53 Pyle Marine amp. It came with its own inline fuse and some connectors. Not a bad deal at all. I made a subharness for the switch and power.
