Most of the 80's I've seen have stock center consoles that run all the way forward to the dash. Do the early 80's have a detached stock center console with nothing between, like the 60's?

Please take a look at the attached assembly directions. There are 3 mounting holes on each side near the bottom of the side plates that can be used to mount to the tunnel. You can either run screws into the sheetmetal of the tunnel or install rivet-nuts. Many of my customers don't secure it...
