Attempting to check my water temp sensor led me to do a check of my thermostat.
HOWEVER
Some previous owner must have opened the thermostat casing before and then used a sticky silicone (loctite?) to form a gasket sealing it together with the water pump.
The sucker won’t budge.
Any tips...
I’ve done some digging but haven’t quite found an answer yet.
Does anyone know how to test or to remove the water temp sensor without having to take the entire pump or thermostat or whatever that thing is off? :)

Btw, @MrMacdugal posted a link to @jonheld ’s 3FE EFI diagnostics above. While I believe it references a 1991 FJ80’s version of the engine, the simple diagnostic information and suggestions helped me to understand the system better and helped me to very simply and quickly identify the problem...

Busy month, back to the garage today. I read through all the helpful comments provided (y’all ROCK!) and dove into a few rabbit trails. Somewhere, someone posted a 3FE diagnostic thread that had a PDF with a 1991-92 3FE EFI diagnostic.
While not an exact match to my vehicle (FJ80 vs my FJ62)...
UPDATE: Ok. I checked the CEL bulb, it still works (grounded W on the ECU). I get no codes when in diagnostic mode. The CEL DOES NOT FLASH in diagnostic mode. The ECU IS getting power (11V and change; very close to battery reading).

Battery is a new Red Top, so it’s terminals are awesome.
