 I am selling my Land Cruisers! I have a good running, good condition 1975 FJ40. It is red. It has a custom made rack for the back for spare tire, gear and ice chest. It has a bikini top and fiberglass half doors. Disc brakes all the way around. No rust to speak of.

If anyone has a good working wiper motor for a '75 FJ40, I'd be interested in buying. It's the only thing keeping my ride from passing inspection. I really want to start driving on the road (legally) so I have to get the wipers working so it will pass State inspection.
Thanks,
Mike

Wow, CHEAP 40, your right. Based on SOR's site, it looks like an early '60s engine. If it is that old, it sure runs good for its age! Thanks for the link. So, should I keep it or look for a 2F to swap out? Or, an SBC 350 for that matter?

The build date of my frame is July '75. I don't know about the motor. The block is stamped "F247172". It's my understanding that in 1975 BOTH the F and 2F engines were used. I wish I knew how to tell if the engine came with the car or if has been replaced. I think it's original, but I...
Thanks for the comments. The color is red. It looks a little orange in the pics, but it is just red. I don't know the color code, but I'm pretty sure it's a correct factory red.
The carrier was custom built by the P.O. It has a center mount for a full size spare tire, two spots for gas cans...
Hello to all. My '75 FJ40 is almost road worthy. It has an F motor with 4 speed manual tranny. It has front disc brake conversion. All I need to do to get it inspected and legal is to fix the horn, the wipers and put on the rear license plate with light (if anyone has a rear license plate frame...
Okay, I found a number on the driver's side of the block. It is:
70920 and there is a 42 underneath that number. On the passenger side of the block it has: P 247172
The door plate vin is FJ40205655
July 1975 FJ 40
This is an update of an earlier post.
These numbers...
Thanks for the info guys. I can't find a vin plate in the engine compartment anywhere. How can you tell the difference between an F and a 2F engine? After reading a bunch of these threads, I'm beginning to think my engine has been replaced. Mine has a small round air cleaner off to the right...
I hope I'm not too late. Here's mine.
The only VIN I could find is on the driver's door jam. It is:
July 1975
FJ40205655
I could only find a stamp on the block on the passenger side. It is:
P 247172
I can't find any other VIN plates. The cruiser is...
A little help?
I'm trying to get some pics of my new ride downloaded, but they seem to be too big.
In the meantime, reading some of the other posts has me a little worried about what I have. The only VIN plate I could find is on the door jam of the driver's side door. The VIN is FJ40205655...
:cheers:Hello everyone,
I just purchased a '75 fj40. My first Cruiser! I am located in Pleasanton, Texas and I'm looking forward to meeting other cruisers in the San Antonio and surrounding areas.
By the way, anyone know where I can find a decent hard top with ambulance doors?
