Since I have drawn a front engined honda pro-mod buggy using the prelude dohc VTEC(I know...but they make 200 hp and are cheap,unlike the civic vtec's!!!) Ill let you in on a idea I have....
Make it right hand drive,only add a passengers seat because it has to be there....also angle the engine...

You do realize that a vtec is pretty much a waste, since in both of the examples you posted it crosses over to the hi-cam lobe at 5200-5800 rpm......not where you will ever likely be for any amount of time.
And turbos need rpm to make power.....now a roots blower makes power from idle until...
If you wanna build for xrra you may end up having to experiment with axle ratios to get the overall top speed up to what you want....with 5.29s @ 7000rpm I estimate im only going 40-45mph...maybe!!!It gets there quick though.
It is most like comparing a conventional drivetrain with a 4 speed...
To use a B series engine you have to use a B series trans.....I am currently using a d series trans and the Zc is a D series.
I am not really sold on using a vtec engine in one of these buggys since one you pay alot more for anything vtec(especially a b18 type R engine....)and the high rpm...
I have been directed to this thread and only have a few things to add.
I used Honda because of its light weight/high hp/small physical size and low power loss through their automatics,not to mention being a honda tech for 16 years!!!Also the reverse rotation of the engines allows for rear...
