What years were "70's Series" made??

quote: "seriously though, if i were to drive up to canadia, and stop at some junkyard, what are the chances of me finding a 70 series with salvagable diesel and 5spd?" Slim, very slim. The 70's were sold only in very small numbers and for only a few years (maybe 3?) in the GWN. They have been...

    one dim headlight on 60

I had the same problem. In my case it was a fuse. The fuse is on the ground side of the circut, and even with one blown, there was enough bleeding to ground to get small current through bulb, hence, dim headlight.

    Toyota 350

Nothing primitive about Nascar engines? They're 16 valve pushrod V-8s with carburetors for God's sake! That WAS cutting edge technology, ----- about 1920! NASCAR is the only major motorsport series in the world where most of the fans driving to the track have more advanced engines in their cars...

    3B engine - oil cooler

Darkman, I have a graduated oil pressure gauge on the feed line to the turbo on my 3B. I was running Rotella 15-40, but I was concerned that I had too much oil pressure. The gauge was still showing about 75 psi at highway speed (about halfway between the marks on my original FJ60 panel meter)...

    B-diesel injection pump

The one that you have marked green is the one that I "think" is right! ;)

    B-diesel injection pump

Well, I don't see it on your diagram! I looked on my engine today and I saw a small (maybe 10mm?) hex head bolt with a screw slot in the top of the governor. Could be the one, I'm not sure. Here is the section from my manual:

    B-diesel injection pump

My "Maintenance Procedures' manual shows a small screw plug on the top of the governor housing. I've never actually looked for it on the engine.

    B-diesel injection pump

What was that you were saying? Sorry, I guess I was mesmerized by Perfect Obsession's avitar! Isn't there a plug on top of the Fuel pump that you remove to oil the diaphragm?

    B-diesel injection pump

While we're on the subject of 3B injection pumps-- Is it true that the diaphragm should be periodicly lubricated with Neats-foot oil? We keep it in the house for treating ball mitts! Same stuff?? moT

    Mechanically Frustrated

The third week of August I blocked up my FJ60 to start my long planned 3B turbo engine swap. I thought it might take me a month, (HA!) I'm just finishing up now! There were plenty of days of setback after setback when it seemed like it would never be done. It dosen't help when it seems the wife...

    BJ42 Cruiser- Pro's and Con's

Re: EDIC E-lectronic D-iesel I-njection C-ontrol Sounds high tech and scary, but it is just a three position stepper motor that controls the injection pump. If it fails you can jury rig a mechanical linkage that will serve quite well. Parts can be a challenge here in the States (I live in...

    Puttin' a 3B diesel into the FJ55

On my 3B into FJ60 project, I moved the whole rad back 5" with a fabbed up steel box to make room for the intercooler in front. Then I just soldered up a section of 1-1/4" copper pipe fittings to take the bottom rad connection over to the other side and up to the water pump. Just used short...

    Wiring diagram for early BJ60

I got it, & thanks! Looks like that's what I need. :D I'm running 2 1/4" SS pipe exhaust, sans muffler as well. It can't be any louder then all those "Dangerous Dentists" on their Harley's! I have an EGT probe in front of the turbo, and I plan to experiment with the boost and fuel stop after I...
