You already bought GROM. Why not installed it and try it out? Instead of wasting more money to get another solution, use GROM. I used GROM for years for CarPlay. Aside of requiring tinkering, it works for me.

Maybe I not a smart engineer, why do Toyota put an electronic device mount on the vehicle frame? It’s not like it’s water proof area. I can see water sip in through the connector (even the connector is water tight) and fry the circuit board with some age.

I used JB weld for temp fix. Order Toyota OEM from online Toyota parts. While swapping the radiator, might want to tackle the water pump, hose & thermostat.
