I am a retired framing contractor after 40 years of carpentry. bought my first cruiser in 1984, it was a 1977 fj40 with hardtop and I gave $700 for it. and I drove it home. didn't know what I had then. been in love with them ever since. I'm not a full fledged mechanic but I have learned to work on them. I live 100 miles from the Kiamichi mountains in okla. not like the rockies but nice all the same. mostly I play around up there. used to play in a lot of bands a long time ago but not so much anymore. it was fun while it lasted though. still 'jam' every once in a while. I was back in the zeppelin, Hendrix, cream, and jeff beck days. anyway, that's about it . wish I was more 'savvy' on computers and newer technology so I could tune chips and stuff but while you guys were doing that I was in the garage jamming with my friends. I really like this site. lots of good people and a ton of information here. thanks.
