I made that decision by measuring the part of the T that is visible between the three hose. I have been convinced here that Toyota has made the t's weaker with thinner walls and that the pipe diameters will be correct. But I agree with a comment...

I have decided to keep the new parts but NOT install them but carry them in the car so I can do the fix if the original T's fracture. Is this a good plan?

I aim in two minds as to whether I should leave well alone. There is no cracking to be seen in original but maybe i'll pull the original to inspect and take a pic

Didn't know Dan had left the dealership. Oh well hope Salt Lake is on a trip list

Dan there a lot more material in the center and I'm sure the walls of the pipe is thinner. Grab one of your shelf and see what you think. My feeling is the original ones in there are as good as the new.

That's the part Dad. I measured at the widest part (where the line from 8724X points) and on my cruiser the width is 22mm and the new part is 19mm. The external diameter of the upper pipe is 17mm and internal is 13mm. So maybe the part is now...

For my 2007 Land Cruiser 100, 215K miles. In a thread here I was advised to avoid breakdown to replace my two heater hose T's. I bought two heater hose T's - Toyota description "PIPE, WATER" from TWO different dealers. They both sent me part...

Problem solved. I may have wasted $200 on OEM rotors as what I took of checked out as good. Re-packed front bearings so I suspect they were too loose. Thanks for all the input. Morale I should have re-done bearings first but there was never any...

UPDATE. So I got OEM rotors, $67 at Olanthe, Kansas dealership but with shipping not much better than list local. But I notice grease leaking from the front wheel drive shafts, see pictures. There is a bit of looseness in the drive shafts but...

I have to adit I used NAPA rotors. Any hints on where to get OEM rotors. Being so heavy shipping might be a problem. Anyone know a discount dealer in Southern cal?

OK now have flushed brake fluid, activated ABS a few times and correctly bleed system. Pump now runs for about 32 seconds. Still getting the pulsing on braking so maybe it is the fairly new rotors have warped? But warped rotors would cause...

Needing to bleed brakes. I have read every related thread and see many contradiction or differing advice like bleed order and whether to bleed a master cylinder and how?. Need procedure and order to bleed using a "one man" bottle and NOT any...

REPLY TO 2001LC Wheel bearings good Disks and pads etc look good Fluid drawdown about 28 seconds looks good BUT I see I did a BAD bleed job and will repeat using a valve assist AND the driver side rear brake, the one where I reported no fluid...

2001LC thanks for a great write up and giving such a work schedule. I do see my bleeding was, well bleeding awful and will do. I will follow your work schedule and report back.
  • MH_Stevens
Thanks for reply but all brakes including rotors NEW and bearings serviced and good. NOTE the problem is INTERMITTENT. In my experience the issues you suggest cause a permanent condition.

My 2004 with 225K miles has the original hoses and belts save for the timing belt done at 95K. I am off on a 4K mile trip and so considered it time to change all hoses and belts out but on inspection they all look so good. Really don't have...

2004 with 225K miles. INTERMITTENT (meaning 50% of the time symptoms not evident) pedal and steering wheel vibration, biting on braking. Usually gentle breaking like as using brakes to slow when going down grade. Feels the same as warped rotors...
