No but I await a compelling explanation as to how reverting back to OEM ATF fluid will fix the internal electronics of the ECM/PCM, as that was your solution. I suspect I’ll be waiting , oh, forever for that explanation. Note you didn’t respond at all— your answer was just a snarky & unrelated...

I know that the math isn’t your point btw: you’re agreeing w me that a previous poster’s chest-beating trump card re increased fluid pressure fundamentally misunderstands, well, basic science. To your direct point re replacing all of the solenoids…!contemplated it for PM reasons but the only...

Not to get pedantic but accepting the invitation to get to that level of pedantic precision with the above nice, neat science textbook equations, several real world variable departures from the artificial lab excitement data: a) the above formulas are premised on 5qts & my 2013 570 with the tow...

thx for reminding me of the terminology-- the picoscope / oscilloscope was used to send a signal into the FRONT-end & detached wiring harness leaving the ECM / PCM to the valve body & SLT solenoid & it worked fine. When plugging into the BACK of the PCM / ECM, the signal wasn't running thru /...

think we're talking past each other: how does the above solution address that the sensor / electrical input signals going into the PCM are not making their way to the valve body & the SLT solenoid? Yet when using (whatever the tool was called) & simulating the signal / electrical that the PCM...

I'm leaning going with the reman PCM / ECM. Also, to everyone: your input / thoughts have truly been invaluable. As the troubleshooting to find the root cause took 2+ months and various potential failure points were tested & re-tested, with potential failure points being ruled out one by one...

Apologies & not to rehash the entire thread), one important fact isn't going away by going back to the OEM pan & Toyota WS ATF fluid: the PCM / ECM (or whatever the Toyota-speak term for it) crapped out. Toast. From an electrical failure. Going back to the OEM pan & Toyota WS ATF fluid...

Harsh Upshifts (esp. in low gears) / P2716 code (shift solenoid 'D') / Recent OEM Pan Replacement... Thoughts?

OK a few Qs, as I've been holding off on buying a reman ECM / PCM. The part # is 8966160R00. Again, the primary issue is ONLY the harsh / jerky upshift from 1-2 (I can feel it from 2-3, but no other passenger can). So my temporary workaround has been to just toggle the ECT switch to...

danke sir! To be precise (and apologies for my tendency to pen novels-- feel free to dunk on me for that bad habit from my day job as a lawyer coming thru-- the length of my post(s) often compromise precision... my bad)... but the issue is solely electrical. The mechanical transmission is...

Apologies for my tome, as this has been a 2-month-long troubleshooting exercise and so the update was comprehensive & lengthy to outline the step-by-step elimination of source issue. On the 2013 LX 570, the PCM is integrated into, and part of, the ECU (in Toyota / Lexus speak, the 'ECM')...

ADDENDUM. TRANSMISSION VODOO STRIKES BACK. Update. This happened late last week, but just now have time to post. To recap, the p2716 error code indicated an electrical failure with the SLT solenoid (or D solenoid)-- it regulates how much ATF fluid at what pressures are necessary at...

For any interested, here is a link to the B&M pan-- as my 570 is black & I tinted the windows all around with 3M Crystalline film at 70% VLT on the windshield (a godsend & is super-helpful in the hot summer months down South maintaining a steady cool interior temperature, reduces glare, etc.)...

Just playing it forward-- that's the thing I really love about these forums. I have three (3) different rigs: the 2013 LX 570, a 2013 heavily modded JKU & a 2022 Ram Rebel 1500 ecodiesel & there are forums (fora?? lol) for all of them. And folks across the board are incredibly generous with...

agreed. That's why I went ahead and ordered a new SLT solenoid to install: I had low confidence, if high hopes, that the Troubleshooting Step 1 of topping off the transmission fluid (I was a bit off when I refilled upon installing the new B&M pan-- 0.5 qts light-- still trying to figure out...

UPDATE 2. Issue was a crapped out SLT solenoid. Impedance tests revealed a resistance of 6.1 ohms. Not outrageously out of the normal 5-5.6 ohm 'normal' range, but the higher-than-normal-but-not-crazy-high resistance and corresponding open circuit gremlin may help explain why the shifting...
