I need to replace the back door (tailgate) seals, or weatherstrip as toyota calls them, on my KZJ78 (apparently same seals as on Hzj76,77, Lj78, Pzj77 - maybe others). Can anyone confirm the part numbers for these? Have looked on toyodiy but they seem to show an upper and lower for each door...
As above, you need to look at the rollers for wear, discolouration (from overheating) and water damage - also inspect the bearing race. once they are all cleaned up and before you grease them put the bearing into the race and rotated it with finger pressure to check for roughness.

there is spring clip on the handle shaft. I just take a small flat head screwdriver and go in between the handle and the door card and 'flick' the clip out from one if its ends.
Also note that when you remove the door handle once you have undone the screw you have to slide the whole handle...

spacers are fine - just make sure they are the right ones for your axle style, install them correctly and torque the nuts to factory settings - then check them a few km's later and occasionally when you have the wheels off and they will be fine.
now wait for the anti-spacer crew to come...
dobinson have a dealer in Poland - his name is Mattias but I can't find his email address now - if you email dobinson australia they will give you his email address. good service and reasonable postage cost.
in my 78 series I can access it from the engine bay by taking the washer fluid bottle loose and moving it out the way - behind it is a cover that can be popped off for access into the fender area. not saying it was easy but it is was possible.

OME do make springs for the prado's. First time I have heard of a prado owner wanting softer springs!!! Are you sure they are originals on it - I suspect not.
IMO dobinson all the way. I had OME and they where way to stiff on the front - Dobinson's are great!
