Marauder Prince

Why Marauder Prince?

At one time I owned a 2003 Mercury Marauder. I truly loved that vehicle because of how spacious the cabin and trunk was. The interior and exterior was very clean, and I added a few modifications. By all means it was not crazy fast. It weighed in at over 4200lbs, and the 4.6L DOHC and 3.73 gear can only move a vehicle so fast.
But it was made for cruising, which it did quite well.

Fast forward a few years and I was on an annual canoe trip down the Alleghany river. My group was passed by another group and we noticed a nice size radio strapped to a cooler that was not on.
We asked the group about the radio and their response was that they had it off to enjoy nature. Completely understandable.

We had set up camp on an island and noticed that on another island were the same individual's that had the radio. Their camp was around 200-250 yards away. As night fell and steaks and beer were consumed, someone from my group said wish their was some music. We all agreed and then we remembered the group not to far away that had set up camp with a radio.
Liquid logic was put into motion and I devised a plan to take a small group up river the 250 yards to the neighboring camp and using stealth, take their radio. In my head it was a marvelous plan. I had two volunteers and we set out into the cover of night. About 100 yards in, we realized this was foolish and we can get through the rest of the night without a radio.
We turned back toward our camp defeated. Later we laughed about the thought and attempt of thievery of a radio. The name "The Marauding Prince" was brought up and it stuck for a few years, only being mentioned at gatherings.

So that's the story, owned a Marauder and was a marauder myself for a whole 30 minutes.

Vehicles:

1996 Lexus LX450

Bought this off of a friend that had gotten married, bought a house and was looking for extra cash. He wanted to keep it but did not have the time or money to put into it.
He asked if I was interested and of course said yes. I bought it for $2000 after tax and title.
I drove it home on an early Saturday morning with little to no brakes (had to pump them) to begin to slow down. Also, a check engine light with code P0300 (random misfire) and gas light was about to come on. An adventure indeed.

Drove the vehicle for a few years and my wife liked the ride so much, she went and bought a 1999 Lexus LX470. But living in a rust/salt belt, the winters that it had gone through had shown the wear and tear and it was time to park it.
It currently sits in one side of the garage with the rear axle out from underneath it and a assortment of rust fighting weapons laying around. The rust is no bad. I have seen worse on my Jeep. I plan on POR15 selected areas of the rear. I will also POR15 the axle as well I think.
Once this is complete, I will move on to the front. Any advise is appreciated.
My long long time goal is to have the vehicle equipped to travel the back roads of Canada from coast to coast. But this is a long long long time goal/dream.

Other vehicles are: 1999 Lexus LX470 (wife), 2010 Ford E-350 (long hauler for kids), 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ (winter vehicle), 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ (rust magnet).
Would like to find a 60 series.
