Removing plastic seat panel for gear swap?

Quick trip to Sears did the trick. It would still definitely be easier to raise the seat. Live and learn. Thanks all.

Removing plastic seat panel for gear swap?

i am trying to do the gamiviti gear repair on my drivers seat. Access to the screws on the Plastic panel on my 97 collectors edition is tucked behind the seat (see pic). The screws are inaccessible. Is there a trick to exposing the panel for access to the screws?

    Krown Rust Preventative Applied

Not sure what product Krown uses for treatment. I have Fluid Film applied annually by a local shop in Maine and have been very pleased with the results. Cost is ~120. You can also purchase the product at various auto parts stores and apply yourself. Best and most effective rust treatment and...

    Opinions on rust

My opinion is that rust forming on the underside of the top portion of the tailgate is a result of spray from the road getting up inside the drain holes, license plate lights and latch (either directly or by the closed cell foam gaskets getting saturated). That exposed area takes a beating from...

    Opinions on rust

From another rust post......"I am going to second the use of fluid film as the best preventative maintenance for rust prevention, protection and spread arrest. I live in Maine where the use of salt and brine solutions is common practice in winter. I have a 99 that I have owned since 04. Staring...

    ABS Engaging 99 LC

I just want to be sure I am not making a 2K investment in the repair before I know it’s necessary. Clearly there have been some issues with these systems, just want to investigate all possible avenues before proceeding. Not big on disconnecting the ABS, but an option to consider. I think I...

    ABS Engaging 99 LC

On two occasions last summer my wife had the ABS engage in non emergency braking situations. She was stopping normally and the brake pedal became very hard to engage (hard to press) and she states that with extreme pressure the ABS engaged and she was able to stop. No warning lights activated...

    white smoke

how big of a job is it to replace the valve stem seals? I assume the parts are inexpensive, but what would a reasonable labor estimate be? I typically have work done at the dealership. thx.

    white smoke

pretty sure it's not coolant, but I will check the level. it appears to be oil burning off from my inexperienced perspective. vehicle has 105k.

    white smoke

Over the past week on two occasions I have noticed a puff of white smoke (white not blue) during start up. This is not happening every time (maybe 1 out of 10 starts), but when it does occur it seems to be after a period of the vehicle sitting for at least 8 hours (again, not every time as I...

    Intermittent Starting Problem

I am happy to report that the throttle body cleaning seems to have done the trick for my cruiser as well. The issue got progressively worse for me and cleaning the throttle body instantly made a difference in the engine rpm at idle. Before cleaning I would start the truck and then the rpm...
