Thank you; yes, saw those (the "basic version" - no ball) ...still a little "utilitarian" for me...but, may be the only option. I'm hoping one of you guys responds with "yeah, I attached the "fixed console mount" to the dash w 3M and it holds/works really well.
My Roadtop (I've had the 8. and now the 8.9 - both work as advertised) mounting suction cup turned to "goo" from the sun....total beeotch to remove the gunk. anyway, don't want to go that route (suction cup) again. Can anyone advise on a tried/true mounting system? I know of the various...
Yep, that is probably the "proper" way to go...while "installing" mine while positioning it on the styrofoam "bed" up against the black lower louver (again this is an LX) I found it to be incredibly secure...so much so, I just ran a couple tie wraps around the bar and the grill...almost 50k...
Have you found these to be "reliable"? And, as a follow, are they noticeably brighter ? I found in halogens that w 100w vs 55w very little noticeable change...they just burned out faster.
As I understand their operation, basically a 35bulb but overdriven by a 55w ballast...that gives me a...
Re extender "caps" one can also "hole saw" the OE caps and then use a "stadium" cup (cut off about 1/3 way up) inserted into the hole w a little silicon...tons of room.
If you can still find them - there was a Phillips
Osram somewhat OE HID in h11. They are "true" OE 4300k but w an H11 base. After reading all these LED burnouts, I'd stick w HID.
And, If you decide to pop an uber bright H11 into your fogs just know, they are ridiculously bright, "spray"...
FWIW, the particular trip where I typically was in the 20ish MPG (again, Mich Latitude) is just shy of a tankful of fuel...not an interstate and relatively flat. Excepting one 15 mile portion, the posted speed limits range 55 - 60 so I'm really running in a bit of a sweet spot.
I haven't yet...
Thanks, whats weird is that during my search, Tire Rack advised that I could get an LTX (maybe they got the size wrong?) but that the Defender LTX MS/2 was the latest/greatest. Kinda bummed if 18MPG is now mt "best" mileage. It is what it is.
Funny you say that...sorting through which "Defender" tire is which/better was no easy task...and I'm still not 100% WTF I bought :/
The invoice reads "Mich Defender LTX MS/2" The store manager, again really awesome experience, just told me these are the latest greatest from Michelin. When I...
New Defender MS2 (285/50/20) installed about two weeks ago. Replaced Latitude Touring. Shop aired at 40ish - I set to 33 psi. Seem to be, for long highway runs, averaging around 2 mpg less than the Latitude (which was delivering around 20 mpg).
But very smooth - not sure if quieter or around...
Re "dash switch" I'm wondering if the "faux" switch (left most in the switches above the coin box) can be drilled out to accommodate something like one of these:

UPDATE - wanted to close the loop with the somewhat surprising outcome of my lightbar install. I pulled +12v directly from the HB3/9005 connector - right at the HB3 connector. I ran the other side of the coil to an illuminated switch, circuit then terminating at ground in driverside kick...
Just one last bump before "retreating" and just triggering off the hi beams and "turning off" the DRL's
In talking w the Stedi folks (great support) it appears that Stedi harness listed above may (or may not) address the DRL use case (having them operate as OE). But for anyone wanting "close"...
