Doggy low rpm, but plenty of juice over 2k rpm

Have you checked your fuel pump? I have seen fuel pumps fail on 80s that cause very low power and stumble at low rpms, sometimes under 3k. I have also seen fuel pumps fail that cause a failure at high rpm. It may be on its way out and causing your bogging under 2k.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

I wouldn't want to scare you, but that radio lasted for about two weeks on my car. For less than 20 bucks it was worth the try, but it didntl ast sadly.

    Headlight upgrade FJ60?

I've had both Trucklites and Holley Retrobrights. Having used proper LED replacements I highly recommend them over going high-end halogen unless you're going for a 100% authentic restoration. And even then, The Retrobrights look so correct that they might be a perfect fit for that application...

    Wow these seats!

Those look like 80 series split benches to me, with a third row seat in the rear.

2F Carburator to intake manifold stud measurements

I searched but only found info on the F engine studs. Does anyone know what size/thread are the studs that mate the carb to the intake manifold?? Mine are toast, can't seem to find replacements! I need the specs for them in order to call out-of-town shops..

    1998 Prado rescue mission!

Love those little trucks. Our markets only had 4 cylinder manual SWB models and V6 LWB autos, had two of the former and one of the latter. The manual 90 is still the funnest driving car i've had. Add a little more power like on yours and it should be awesome. Also, our SWB didn't have the...

Why Buy a Prado vs. ??

If you're familiar with the 3rd gen 4Runner, and like it, then get a V6 90 series and be done with it. As mentioned, the 3rd gen 4Runner and the Prado are exactly the same beneath the body. Same engine, trans, TC, suspension, running gear. Parts availability will only be an issue with body...

    I have a 3rz question.

I've never seen a 4 cylinder auto 90 series. I've only really seen manual 4 cylinders and auto V6 models. No diesels down here either. Manual 4 cylinders use the W56 transmission found in hiluxes, early pickups and 1st gen Tacomas. V6 autos use the A343F as mentioned. V6 manuals which are...

Land Cruiser Prado 90 RZ Import & Refresh (and maybe build...)

4Runners and Prados are the same vehicles with different bodies. 3rd gen 4Runners and 95 Prados are the same. 90s, being shorter, will be the same from the doors forward and behind the rear axle. Engines transmissions, chassis components, suspension, etc are exactly the same. That's why the...

Land Cruiser Prado 90 RZ Import & Refresh (and maybe build...)

I'm trying to find pictures of my old 90 with the Trucklites installed but can't seem to find them. If I do, I'll be happy to share.

Land Cruiser Prado 90 RZ Import & Refresh (and maybe build...)

If my recommendation means anything, go with Trucklites. One of the benefits of the round headlights on the 90 is that you can install these and bring lighting up to 2022 standards..

    What battery is everyone running?

I simply use a battery tender when not in use. Although I've been daily driving the truck lately, they work just fine. I use the yellow top as a crank battery precisely because I have the winch. Also, having two matching batteries, in my mind, should be better when charging both at the same...
