I highly recommend getting a smoking pumpkin 🎃 ( smoke machine) if you run into a P0171 lean code. Had a spooky time trying to identify the cause of bank 1 and 2 running 25 percent long term.
Over the last 2 weeks I got a new air filter, greased the driveline and knuckles, and changed gear oil front, center, and rear. Also got the tires rotated and balanced.
The next few months I will be spending a lot of time in the mtns chasing elk...
Quick run up the mtn this morning to get my steps in. And it was 9/1 so of course the gauge had to tag along. Managed to jump about 9 birds but only managed to get one. They were in some super thick pines.
Winter salted roads will be here before anyone knows it. I also blasted the underneath with fluid film. I drove around locally to find some dust….ended up at a new home development construction site. Probably trespassing but I was quick and got...
Finally found a good solution for attaching Mountain Hatch tailgate cover more securely.
The vinyl "Christmas Tree" push rivets that come with the cover loosen up over time, especially with fluctuations in temperature. Replacing them is cheap...
Got my 1994 running after replacing almost every coolant hose, radiator, fan, blue clutch, water pump, t stat, air injection delete, coolant flush (3x to remove green coolant) new power steering cooler, new trans cooler (both custom Setrab units)...
It must hold more because last time I changed all my gear oil I sourced 2 gallons for the t case and diffs. I had a buddy change the fluid while he was doing some exhaust work for me on the rig and he had to use more than the 2 gallons to finish...
Of course it will...... The question is how does installing a part time kit in the transfer case affect the capacity. The service manual does not give specifications for aftermarket changes to the internals of the transfer case.
Like when you...
Our 100% stock 40th rides and handles great. Still on Michelins.
Tire pressure may be the quickest way to make a ride change, and it's free. Factory pressure numbers are designed for the factory tire, and are set to balance...
Use a grinder to carefully remove just enough material to clear them through the range of steering. I have done this on 2 rigs with years and hundreds of thousands of miles with plenty of hard offloading with zero issues.
There will inevitably...
Drove it to some lava tubes and noticed some play in the shifter. I crawled under it today and noticed the arm on the trans was sloppy. I noticed it had weld on it rather than a nut. Yup, the manual shift shaft is broken and the arms been...
