A Little History:
I have had my 100-Series since it was new. My father bought it from New Country Toyota in Saratoga, NY on August 10, 1998 (12 days before my 10th birthday). It was passed down to me in 2011 when I got my bachelor's degree; I had the option of getting a new car or taking the Land Cruiser... I took the Land Cruiser, and has been my daily-driver ever since! Luckily, my dad kept the mileage low due to designating it a vacation/camping rig and hardly drove it during the winter due to all the salt and sand they love putting on the roads here. He was extremely picky about maintenance and had everything done by the book at the dealership. I'm lucky to have a truck where I know its complete service history; I even have the original brochure that I've saved all of these years! I've named her "Elsie" as a play on the initials "LC" for Land Cruiser!
I hadn't caught the mod bug until recently, and I honestly don't intend to make my truck into an overland exotic, as I love the beefed up stock-ish look for my daily driver. My dream would be to find a gently used 80 or 100 Series and kit that out with everything!
Admittedly, she is mainly a lane cruiser but she does stretch her legs occasionally. I have a small group of friends I meet with every year to do a few trail runs in the Catskills (pictures and videos can be found in my media page). I've been able to use the factory rear locker a couple of times on those trips!
Cosmetically and mechanically I am super anal as people could probably figure out by now. All original paint except for front bumper which I had resprayed after a shopping cart gave her front a kiss, and the rear bumper I had replaced after a minor incident offroad... The undercarriage has been cleaned annually, repainted, and oil-treated.
