The shop that did my exhaust is Late Model Domestics - I wouldn't recommend using them unless you have an LS Swap - they arent really a regular exhaust shop just work on ls.
Slapped some BF All Terrain 37s on and a 3" OME (Old Man Emu) lift kit, as well as some rear Dobinsons adjustable control arms. Method Wheels. The front end is now needing rebuilt as it seems to not like the power running through it and is screaming/screeching now.
Got the Truck running. We ended up using the CTS-V fuel pumps and the Land Cruiser Sending Unit. Wire harness came from Speartech. The hardest part was trying to get the fuel pump to work and we also modified the CTS-V electric fans to work on a new FZJ80 radiator.
Update - the money pit has taken some more time plus editing the videos takes forever but we now have the motor mounts in and are getting ready for exhaust and tune, along with some other expensive-ness.
Are you using a factory LSA motor or is it a LS/LQ motor you added a supercharger to? Simply - is it a factory supercharged motor from a CTS-V motor or ZL1? Apparantly the aftermarket brackets and C5 brackets only fit non-factory LSA applications, according to parts companies I called.
I parted out the CTS-V I used as the donor vehicle for the LSA swap - in total made back about 2-3k which is a lot lower than I expected. The car had so many damaged body panels I was hoping to sell. In total the swap cost me 19k after selling the parts from the V. I would still pick to do it...
@kbellve I had them re spline it, when I got it back it wasn't very tight, so I had to have them re-spline another. Got that one back and it was perfect. I did not have them cut the end, as Marks instructions has it measured from the transmission housing I felt more comfortable doing it myself...
Here is what we have learned so far that I wish we had known before. We will continue to update this thread with the things we learn along the way. Here is also an updated picture of the Land Cruiser at the Shop - front end is taken apart radiators are now out, after my family trip to Italy we...
I wanted to make sure it at least ran before we pulled the motor and trans so we had some YouTube Mastertechs and myself patch some things up. She runs good! Will be rebuilding the transmission because we are using the 6l90e and you have to take the output shaft out to re-spline it.
We received the car, everything went super smooth with the delivery. I have to say Uship is a good place to find shippers, just have to sift through the crappy ones with bad reviews. The car is smoking like a M$*%&*$& but I am pretty sure it is just the oil and gas that sat in the cylinders from...
After 2 months of hunting I found the donor car I'm going to use. Won it at an IAA auction and it will be here this week. I used U Ship for the shipping, they let shippers bid on your trip. Wait for one with good reviews to bid on your job. Here is a breakdown of the cost:
