How's your experience with LCS? If you don't mind me asking, this must be costing you a load.. at least 10k?

    How Does a 1HZ Compare to a 2F?

http://www.ststurbo.com/home These folks make a 'remote' mounted turbo system. The turbo can be located away from the engine and further down the exhaust system which results in cooler intake charges and higher power increases. VW makes a hatch with a supercharged and turbocharged 1.4 l...

    Fj60 1hd-t

Been so long, haha sorry to bump an old thread like this. Just realized after doing a search on 1HD-T in a FJ60 that you had replied to me!! I finally bought an 87 fj60 last year. Funny story, I bought it with the intention of having it as a great body for a project diesel swap. The head...

    Fj60 1hd-t

BTW I can attest to driving through those passes that lead to Bend, more times than I could count in fact, and there are quite a few steep climbs that would really test a swap like that out.

Wow, only 5k? You must be talking just the install, not including the cost of the motor. And that's in CDN?

    Nissan SD22

I think basing your opinion of all nissan diesel motors on your experience with one variant of a nissan diesel (the SD22) is a bit biased. To say that "nissan doesn't make good diesels" is simply opinion and should not be spouted as fact just because this is a toyota forum and we all love our...

    Best all-around diesel for fj60?

First try finding a Diesel Touraeg.. Then try finding the motor. GL to you. On the altitude: The basic rule of thumb is that ANY naturally aspirated vehicle, gasser or diesel, will have a higher percentage of power drop than a turbocharged vehicle making the same amount of power at sea...

Funny you mention that. I'm going to a Maxima meet (hopefully) at Fry's electronics in Renton (I think?) or wherever your fry's is on Sunday.

It's true. I do love the 6. HJ to FJ very much at the top of my list as well :whoops: didn't put it in the title though.

-->Direct BJ to FJ questions: swappers inside <--

So I'm finally finishing the\\ purchase of a great looking 1987 FJ60 here in Oregon. I will now spend a lot of time (more even than I have already) researching and considering options for a diesel swap. My goal is basically converting this nice FJ60 over to a diesel, with pretty good fuel...
