    Hj45 suspension jamming

I don't seem to be able to get this picture up. But my rear suspension leaves are jamming the shackle against the chassis. Any thought on why this is? Spring too long? Too short? Shackle in the wrong place? Link to photo: https://goo.gl/photos/4S3mFZU6YB6ckPxo9 Thanks

Thanks superbuickguy I'll have a good look at it and work out what's the best solution. And you are correct one the Landover LR copied Jeep and Toyota copied Jeep and LR. I have had and loved both. But all my cars are yotas now because they don't explode in the bus!

Can anyone tell me if I can get a range rover v8 to talk to my fj40 speedometer? No one seems to know here and I need to buy new rover dials if it cant work. But I now have two decent condition speedos in my possession. Any ideas?

Original 4 door HJ47 Troopy Find?

I have another thread which is following my build of three different 40 series as I have been sourcing parts and networking to find wrecks across East Africa I came across and have bought this wreck: On arriving home today I started to google for a 4 door HJ47 - but have found nothing other...

Well thats exciting news - apparently it was bought off toyota kenya a originally. Kenya have had a few of their own models fabricated here to suit the bush climate. Doors didnt look fabricated. Im picking it up in a few days and will report back and see if I can find info off the plate.

Away from this build my search for original and salvageable parts led me to this beast: Seems to be a 4 door hj47? Can anyone tell me about it - I dont think I have seen one before, I've bargained with the owner to buy it for scrap'' just need to work out transport back to Nairobi. What model...

The roof is fiberglass, unlike my pickup, and I need to set a side a day to repair it. The rest of the roof setup is ok minus a little bit of rust!

We are going to see how it goes, had been running great in the big truck, and I have the rebuilt 2f to slot in if theres any issues. Also been offered a 1fz-fe with 45,000 on the clock for 1000USD which might not be bad purchase... Have had a few defenders and lost a few head gaskets and...

We really had a dilemma about the roof, we need it to be weather proof but the car only came with a ragged bikini top that look terrible. We just spoke to the metal fabricators to sort us a rollcage and canvas full length roof when my 'classic chaser' told me he had heard of a man in Nyeri who...

After we had the car down to the metal and a little panel beating we reapplied a thin layer of filler and then primered the tub. Starting Looking like a car...

We did find a few bits of rot, though considering this car is 44 years old hardly any. A bit under the windscreen.... A few holes in the footwell..... But nothing a quick weld and a bit of sheet cant fix....

As we got further through the filler over the next day or so the car started to look a lot more promising! I quite like the metal snow look!!

So with a bit of help from a few guys looking for work and a grinder we got down to taking the paint and filler off. This took longer than expected as there was about an inch of filler on the car in some places. I cant tell you how thick it was - and whats more the metal underneath was in decent...
