100 series cup holder divider and plastic cover for shifter.

I was trying to look up a replacement for this drink divider/butterfly item. My 1999 TLC has the adjustable version, although I did buy the rig used, so the used car dealer may have replaced the factory default item. My local Toyota dealership said the 1999 only shows the full drink holder...

Pulsing during slow braking - pads and rotors only 18k miles old

Thanks for the update! While I'm not very mechanical, I'm not scared of trying to fix some things. I'm not sure I want to tackle something so critical to staying alive. Based on what I've been reading here in the forums, I have a few questions. 1. While this can be annoying, it doesn't...

Pulsing during slow braking - pads and rotors only 18k miles old

@2008LX : Did you find a resolution to your problem? I have a 1999 TLC (100 Series) with almost exactly the same issue. When I concentrate on the issue, I initially discounted brakes because the pulsing doesn't seem to happen with every rotation of the wheel, more like every 5-8 rotations. It...

Factory Remote / Door Lock / Alarm Issue - Electrical Gremlin

@AstRomroMan I couldn’t find a pic from when I pulled it apart, but as I recall, the back of the key cylinder (opposite end where you insert the key in the door) has a slotted metal end cap where you could insert a regular screwdriver into. Also, on the lock cylinder housing on each side...

Factory Remote / Door Lock / Alarm Issue - Electrical Gremlin

I'll have to re-check the fuses. I don't think I checked anything on the passenger side. I replaced the actuators all the way around (including the rear-hatch) and that seemed to resolve some of my problems, but some issues still remain: - no chirp when I lock or unlock the doors via the...

    Intermittent alarm sounding…. (2001 LC)

1999 TLC, interior passenger-side front door, back of key-lock cylinder. 1999 TLC, interior passenger-side front door, electric lock sensor cap that snaps on to the back of the key-lock cylinder. 2 views. You should be able to see how the notch in the center of the sensor fits onto the...

    Intermittent alarm sounding…. (2001 LC)

Sorry for the confusion. Thanks to those of you trying to clarify. The door lock assembly was really the black-box actuator assembly... the one the replacement motor sits inside. It sits a little below armrest level inside the door and has both mechanical and electrical connections. The best...

    Intermittent alarm sounding…. (2001 LC)

Looked up my solution post on a diff thread and apparently have selective memory. remote does not unlock or lock doors, but door switches do lock / unlock The alarm had worked prior to replacing the door locks and a combo of weak battery in the key and screwing up the passenger door assembly...

    Keyless Entry Works Intermittently

Just a quick follow-up. I did end up purchasing a used CONTROLLER (bcm) and no change to my specific problem of periodic alarm beeps. Replacing the door locking motors fixed it for me. But there are lots of gotchas when doing it, so read the posts on it first and go slow. Hopefully this helps.

    Intermittent alarm sounding…. (2001 LC)

I purchased a CONTROLLER (see my post above), located behind the radio in the dash. Much to my chagrin, that used $200 part didn't fix the issue. No change at all. My door lock motors were very slow and I sometimes had to click it multiple times to get it to lock. I purchased the motors off...

remote does not unlock or lock doors, but door switches do lock / unlock

Well... I finally took it in to a local shop specializing in Toyota's. They had it 4 days and I don't know how many hours they put in, but they only charged me for 1 hr diagnostics. THE RESULT: Apparently there were two issues. 1. the primary key w/remote was sending out a continual alarm...

    Intermittent alarm sounding…. (2001 LC)

From a previous experience I had with a '94 Ford Explorer... do you have the venting set to fresh or recirculate and does it make a difference when you switch it? Did they give you the Service Bulletin number? I've been fighting a door locking, key/remote programming, alarm sounding issue...

    Towing Wire Harness Recall 98-99

When I bought my rig 4 months ago it had a cap on the harness connector, located on the undercarriage, on the passenger side of the spare. I had to do some towing this last weekend and dropped in a curtis kit specific to a 1999 TLC and it worked great (purchased for ~$50 from a local welding &...

    Tees

That forum thread haunted me for a few days after reading it... every time I pulled out of the driveway or went over a speed bump, thinking it was going to disintegrate. I have a 1999 w/189K. It seems like a good rig, but needs some "TLC". I do a little here and a little there each month...

    Tees

OK. That makes much more sense now. For the alternator, I only removed that front skid plate, not the plate behind it. Next time I have an hour or so to burn I'll go pull it and see how it looks. That was exactly how I read into testing as well. I guess if you had the capability to connect the...
