Coolant leak near back of the engine / inlet manifold on a FZJ105 - 1FZ petrol

Hi all. I noticed a cup or so of coolant last night on the ground, after putting some petrol in at the servo. It seems to be coming from the passenger side (its a RH drive vehicle), near or just in front of the firewall. I can see some wet marks on the RH frame just behind the front wheel. I...

Insurance wants to total truck - front end damage. Need advice

I had my UZJ100 hit by a Patrol that crossed over the line. The chassis was warped, so they wrote it off. I didn't argue, as we had an agreed value, which I was happy to take. Thought of buying it as a paddock bomb, but I don't have a paddock... The drivers door was touching the rear door, hence...

    1fz-fe dual fuel system question

Sorry @99fzj105, I didn't actually do the change over myself. My brother in law did it for me. I didn't watch him, but he said it was fairly straight forward, the main issue was the limited space due to the gas mixer being above/near it. There is a video on Youtube that is meant to show it, but...

    1fz-fe dual fuel system question

Just another (late) update, for what its worth. I replaced the spark plugs with ones suitable for LPG and petrol, as I would like to get the LPG going one day. I also replaced a few hoses. Still haven't replaced the leads or coils yet. Then I replaced the fuel filter... and wow, so much rust...

    Sunroof delete?

I'd be tempted to apply something you can remove easily, to try to seal it up. At a guess, something like MOLYKOTE 55 O-Ring Grease or similar. It is meant to slightly swell existing o-rings and other rubber seals. It doesn't seem to really dry or set. So could be worth coating the existing...

    1fz-fe dual fuel system question

Well I'll be.... I was about to order a replacement MAP sensor, but thought I'd change the vacuum line to it first. The one that goes to that small greenish gas filter, that I had recently replaced. I also replaced the vacuum line that runs between the fuel regulator and the throttle body near...

    1fz-fe dual fuel system question

@99fzj105, thanks for the photos... I was looking at the other end, near the air box, where my old UZJ100 had the MAF sensor. Mine only seems to have an ambient air temperature sensor there. I'll have to check as per your photos to see if I can see it...although if its a MAP sensor and not a MAF...

    1fz-fe dual fuel system question

Thanks @99fzj105. I hope its not as you say... but yes, I have heard issues with dual fuel systems, in these, and other motors. The 1FZ-Fe seems to run pretty hot anyway. I'm hoping its not terminal... so I'll keep at it in the meantime. The fact that it seems to run poorly especially when its...

PLEASE HELP! 2000 LC dies while driving/no check engine **UPDATED 8/17/21**

"Inspected engine ROO box"... I think they meant engine ROOM box, unless they are in Australia perhaps. ;)

    1fz-fe dual fuel system question

Well, an update. I installed a new genuine Crank angle sensor, and while it seems slightly smoother, it hasn't fixed my issue @99fzj105. It seems to be smoother, and a little less likely to falter or hesitate, but it still nearly stalls, or backfires, with any real application of the...

How to reconnect kickdown cable to throttle body on a 2002 FZJ105 auto with a 1FZ-Fe engine?

Hi all. I recently picked up a 2002 FZJ105 series after my UZJ100 was ran into by a rather nasty Nissan Patrol... resulting in both vehicles being write-offs. I was checking condition of the spark plugs today, and loosened off the nut on the lower of three cables running to the throttle body...

Replaced muffler, then O2 Sensor Fail, then misfire. Connected?

I'd check the wiring to the upstream O2 sensor. Possibly got damaged during the muffler install? Just a guess, an I am not an expert at all. Shouldn't cause a misfire though... although, if the O2 sensor is providing incorrect or no information, the system could be running excessively lean or...

Poll on total brake failure in 100 series

Yep, that's the easiest way to do it... you just need a long allen key to remove the two bolts, and a phillips for the positive and negative leads. I found removing the airbox made it easier to get to.

Poll on total brake failure in 100 series

It could be. All my issues were related to the unit itself, but I guess it could be something else. Do you get any error codes?
