I've got two solenoids that consistently read 7.3. Another varies between 7.1 and 7.4 (6 readings over 24 hours). One will never read the same 6.0, 6.1, 7.7, 8.0, 6.7,6.8. Probably did not need to change them all, but the amount of time I've spent after the swap just looking at the cause of...
Thank you! Just rechecked readings at about 92 degrees. Hot in garage. One read 6.0 others 7.3. took more readings and decided to change the batteries in multimeter and brought the old solenoids into A/C. Will recheck in a couple of hours.
I've got 2 that keep giving different readings...
Just tested all the old VVT solenoids. highest reading was 7.1 ohms others were 6.9, 6.9, 6.8. At 200,000 I was needing new ones. Probably needed them at 120,000. or sooner.
so, my 2011 landcruiser just turned 200,000 miles. I've been hearing valve clatter from time to time but not all the time for 60,000 miles (was told not to worry). Most noticable going up hill on a cold engine and at mid warm up temp when stopped. Sometimes I'd turn off the engine and restart...
I did the toyota spacer: found them on ebay. maybe 1 inch lift in front, not much but I'm happy. I'm running Koni 88s up front with 360 degree turn. Out back I'm running the 90's with 180degree turn. I'm thinking if I did it again I would not do any turn on the rears. The Sanki's from parts...
I'm real happy with my stock springs, Toyota front spacer, Koni 88s with 360 degree turn up front, Koni 90s in rear with 180 degree turn in back. New lower control arms and upper ball joints, new sway bar links and new tie rod ends. had the alighnment done. Did most everything else. 196,00...
if you have not done this yet, and they are original shocks. They are a PITA. there is a 6 or 8 mm recessed socket in the top post of the shock that needs to be held with an allen wrench or box end wrench and small allen: then your 22 mm gear wrench should work. As mentioned above remove spare...

note:
when I installed the front Koni's I damaged the front upper ball joints and replaced them with 555s from Cruiser Teq (great experience) which lead me to try and just replace the lower ball joints. Ended up having to sawzall out both lower control arms took me...
You did good: $430 for the pair! I gave up on original Toyota parts when I got brake rotors with BOSCH on the disc and toyota on the box. With a little research I discovered that Sanki is a Japanese company and a toyota parts supplier. Best price I could find was about $650.00 plus shipping...
I just found lower control arms Sanki 555 on Parts Geek (they have Toyota stock #s) identicle to stock. $161.00 right $203.00 left. As mentioned in this site buy the bolts because I had to cut mine out. Plus, I had to change the control arms because the ball joints could not be pressed out...
I'm in the process of doing my 2011 200 series LC 195,000 miles. I did Koni shocks and struts and upper ball joints first. I damaged the upper ball joints when doing struts. I used Sanki's from cruiser teq for the ball joints. Now I'm doing the lower control arms. Getting them out is a real...
You are getting some good advice: keep it as close to stock as possible. I went with TRD wheels off a 2021 Tundra (craigs list) so no offset issues. Screwing with steering geometry on newer vehicles always comes with some unexpected consequences. Twitchy steering, tire wear, plus stress on...
88s and 90s almost identical except for oil capacity. The 90's may actually be too much for the way I drive. I put them in the back because I do load up from time to time (set at 180 ). I had contacted Koni about the combo and they saw zero problems with the combination of 88s and 90s. Brian...
I don't know if anyone has attempted the front struts/coil overs. The haynes manuel says disconnect the top control arm ball joint and the shock will come out. It did not work for me. My thoughts are to remove the two big bolts holding the lower control arm ball joint to the spindle, the sway...
2011 200 series: I just finished the rear Koni 90's. Removed bilstein 4600s with 68,000. Do not do this job without a gear wrenchs 22mm or 7/8 for removal of Bilsteins and a 15/16 for install of Koni's 90's you also need allen wrench to fit in the top of the shaft. I've had the rears on for...
