thanks again,i looked on the hilux surf forum but could not find any info,it was only googling the problems it kept coming up with this site,there is that many different versions of these trucks.once it sorted then will look out for an intercooler,

i didnt bother as yet,started truck up and it idled fine pressed the high rev button and revs went as normal,checked engine and theres a leak at one of the injectors,plus there hardly any water in it,moved the truck about 20 ft out of the cold wind and started to dismantle everything to replace...

well GTSSportscoupe you were spot on with your assement,took the wire of the connector and it fired up no bother at all,THANKS AGAIN,my head was done in with this thing,now to the waterpump/turbo an a leaking injector to sort, Again thanks for your help,

thanks for that,yes i ran a wire -neg to the connector and plugged it in,(possibly done some damage then) will try codes tomorrow if weather permits (stormy here) have my old pump if need be but would rather not touch that. i have looked on the internet for weeks and weeks and kept coming up...

the connector on the side of the inj pump,as far as i can make (maybe misread something) out this needs 12v to open the solenoid to let fuel up to the injectors,when ignition is on there was no power but if i put a voltmeter to the connector + and the - to the engine/earth i had 12v. if its been...
