I got a 4.7 tundra with 170k miles that had never had the belt done. The belt looked fantastic, but the pump was definitely crapping out (residue behind it) and one of the idlers was starting to go. Without proof it’s worth doing. Not the worst job or all that expensive. But the kit on amazon...
I find getting into 4H from L can be tough. Sometimes shifting into park helps. You also don’t need Lo often in my experience crawling around unless it’s a steep section
I’m in NM too!
Agree on post pictures of the rust, only one person said that, so that’s odd. It’s a 20 year old vehicle, but one that’s generally pretty solid. Unless it was up north it shouldn’t be too bad at 154k
If you have AHC you could ditch it for not too bad of a price. Might want to...
Good luck! use a a couple feet of tubing running into a bottle of fluid to make it less likely to get air in...run that hose into bottle with some AHC fluid in it (just like a clear plastic coke bottle). What I did was crack the bleeder, let some fluid out which you can monitor coming down the...
when you open the bleed ports on (near?) the globes what comes out? have you put a clear tube on it? When I bled mine i had to go around a few times until all the air was out and the tube was helpful to see if there were bubbles.
I also read somewhere that rocking it back and forth was helpful...
Is it currently sitting low? can you drive it just a tiny bit without hurting anything? I had an AHC problem that healed itself after a bit of driving. Sounds like air is in there. Are your accumulator globes shot?
Appreciate all the input. I just purchased the 4 555 joint kit and bushings from @cruiseroutfit. Really easy to talk to on the phone. Lot's of options out there, but for a reasonable price the 555 seem the way to go and definitely appreciate the moderator work
Okay, I’m convinced. It looks like AC Delco 45D2347 are the 555 ball joints.

I wonder if the full ac delco control arm has the 555 in it?
