i'm in the market for a full floating rear end for my 40. i have a stripped and blasted semi floating already for soa, if anyone's interested.

after all this info,thanks by the way. what is the best ratio to run for install. i don't want a gearless wonder either. its pretty much between 488's or 529's

for right now its got the inline 6 banger and 4 spd tranny. sounds like i got the same issue even if i go with 488's. might as well run the 529's

most likely a 37 inch tire but nothings in stone.

if anyone can shed some light it would be appreciated. i've got a 40 and am going to be running 529's with a full detriot in the rear. i was told the other day that with these gears i will need to grind the ring gear teeth to fit the carrier pin and[or] clearance the pin itself. has anyone been...
