That bolt is in shear. If it "snapped" it would have had to have to have sheared off and the shank would still be in there. It looks like it was not tightened correctly and it just fell out. You really don't even need a bolt in this application. A clevis pin and cotter key would work...
I've had White Knuckle Off Road sliders on my 80 for years and continued to be really impressed. If/when I get around to putting sliders on my 4Runner, I will stick with WKOR. Fit perfect and very stout.
I use my receiver hitch in my 4X4 Labs bumper to haul my son's dirt bike. When the bike is loaded, I ratchet strap the bike to the two recovery points on the bumper and it is rock-solid. Even on the trail. No rattles.
Haven't posted much lately, but I recently replaced my original radiator, thermostat and hoses. Used all factory parts. It was running a bit warm before and now runs pretty much 180 - 185F. Very nice.
BTW, changing a radiator in a 1FZ is more involved than I expected. :)
I've been using OE filters on Toyotas (starting back in the '80s with a string of 22R engines) and have never had an issue. Many, many oil changes and literally hundreds of thousands of miles. Zero issues. They're cheap and easy to get. Why buy anything else?
Thanks! The lift is a 50 mm TJM. Before I installed my bumpers and sliders, the actual lift was 3-3.25". With everything installed, it is pretty much right at 2" (50 mm).
The wife had a 100 for a couple of years. I drove it a lot and did the usual stuff - heater tees, brakes, etc. I think the best thing about the 100 is the engine. Bullet proof, smooth and powerful. Our 2007 LX470 got about the same fuel mileage as my 80 though.
One thing that I would shy...
