    3FE Electrical Help

Got distracted for a minute, but got the fusible link in and Ronda runs like a champ now! Thanks for the help everyone. I’ll be off to dirt roads next Friday to see if I can find something new to work on! :steer:

    3FE Electrical Help

Just got it from the mailbox! You rock and this is why I love this forum. Going to make a cup of coffee and go put it on. I’ll report back with the results. Based on my research and mostly on @jonheld ‘s advice, I’m confident the fusible link is the issue...

    3FE Electrical Help

Thanks @jonheld, that’s what I figured but didn’t know if I was missing something. Just ordered the part from Wits End! @BILT4ME I’ll take a look at starter contacts for giggles, got any good threads to look into?

    3FE Electrical Help

Hey there fellow 'mudders, I decided I was going to drive my '92 80 today because it has been about a month and I wanted to exercise her a little bit. Opened the door and saw there was no power. No door light, no power to the locks, nothing. I had the intermittent start issue, turn key, long...

    EGR System code 71

The smog check process is quite a pain here, especially as smog parts become less and less available. Eventually I’ll have to move on to a newer engine or older cruiser. But at least not for two more years!

It passed! I guess I should continue to get the smog stuff working in tip top shape for the next go around.

    EGR System code 71

Well, sitting in the third smog check shop already this morning. First one said the machine for pre-95 vehicles was dead, the next place was a small shop, the owner popped the hood, looked at the vacuum lines and said, “I don’t want to do this”. So here I sit, fingers crossed. I hate the smog...

I do have a vacuum meter and I confirmed that I replaced the correct VSV, the middle one. I am going to check the vacuum lines from the intake manifold, I think they may be clogged.

Mine is doing the same thing right now. At times I can hear a small exhaust leak, but it sounds mostly like valves to me. Also, the fuel injectors are pretty noisy on these machines.

I replaced the VSV, which was bad, and now I suspect it is the hard lines under the intake manifold that are clogged

Ok, ran all of the tests from the video, passed them all. The only test that it hasn't passed is the high vacuum at 2500 rpm when R is connected directly to intake. I guess I need to check all the hard lines, a couple have some bad corrosion.
