Sorry if I got your thread off track. I didn't even know there is an Alpicool thread here. I view almost every warranty as worth $0 to me, not worth my time to deal with a claim. A 5-year compressor warranty on SECOP is wonderful, but if that's 5x the warranty on the fridge itself...

After a lot of measuring, and scaling dimensions of protrusions off spec drawings of fridges, I decided that the space I thought I could jam an ICECO JP50 into, would not work if they shipped the version with the protrusion for the power cord hookup, or if it did fit, it was a risk to the plug...

WOW, the plot thickens. Thanks for posting the photos. I can understand why some fridges might orient the receptacle differently, or have a different angle the wire exits relative to the pins and key slot. But I can't understand why anyone would be following an unofficial industry standard...

A good video for you to watch, would be the one by Jasonoid on YouTube, comparing the eleven 12v fridges owned by his father in law and himself, including a VL45. I believe he comments that all (or 10 out of the 11?) use the same DC plug type at the fridge end. He also gives a recommendations...

Thanks for slogging through it slowly enough or enough times to understand, it's really counter-intuitive in some ways. Most things in life vary more smoothly, this phase change energy at freezing and boiling is an exception to that general rule. This is as if a car that goes 0-60 in 6.0...

It takes as much energy to change 32F water to 32F ice as it does to change liquid water temperature by 143.5 degrees F, such as from 175.5F water to 32F water. This is due to what is called the enthalpy of fusion, the energy needed to cause the change of state from liquid to solid. There is a...

Thanks, to both you and SharpeCat for your replies. I'm pretty sure the taper is the same on all JPs, so your answer means it will be a tight squeeze if I don't space it up from the floor. But I'm pretty sure that would work for me. And with the TR45/60 being bigger in both directions (about...

New member here, drawn in by the fridge buy/discussion. With so many people getting different fridges here, right now, I'm hoping to compile detailed info about what is actually being shipped, versus the various minor variations of dimensions and features shown in marketing materials. For...
