Front swaybar quick disconnects revisited and tested

Oops. Looks like I missed that part. Haha well that is pretty amazing gains for how cheap and easy it is

Front swaybar quick disconnects revisited and tested

So these sway bar disconnects just help improve the offroad feel correct? I thought that because of the design of the front control arms you didn't actually gain any flex by disconnecting the sway bar. I know it's more of a Jeep thing but has anyone done comparisons on an RTI ramp or some...

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

Does anyone have information on what these IC's control inside the ECU? It would be much easier to confirm the circuit is good if I knew the specific circuit that this IC is on. From the diagrams I have found, the components connected to the EFI fuse are: EFI Main Relay, ECU Bat +, MAF, EGR VSV...

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

Personally I'm leaning towards that pin being a manufacturing defect as it was only that one pin sticking up past all the rest. If the IC got hot enough to melt the solder i would expect all of those pins to be out of place.

Posting from an android. I think i got it now.

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

Time for my update. This evening i finally got some time to work on the truck. At this point i decided to just yank the wiring harness and inspect it with all the loom stripped. I started disconnecting the wires at the ecu and noticed a burnt smell. Further snif tests led me to the ecu. I...

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

I couldn't tell you. The past week it hasn't been blowing the first and the circuit shows no continuity to ground. And since it's so intermittent I'm leaning towards a wire instead of a sensor. I have measured my o2 sensors which both read 13 ohms. And when it was blowing the fuse i...

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

Might as well put my issue in here too. My EFI fuse also started blowing. I used the short circuit detector tool which located a compromised wire next to the EGR valve. Problem solved right? Wrong. EFI fuse popped again. But this time the short is random. I'll start trying to track it down...

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

The o2 sensor reading 1.2 ohms is the issue. The o2 sensors should read 11-16 ohms. Are you sure you measured the resistance on the right terminals? The right ones should be the two terminals right next to the 3 tabs on the connector

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

I think you got it flipped around. Your current increased meaning your resistance got smaller which is what a short does. If you plug in the data you have gathered into ohms law which you provided you will see that your wife's truck shows 1.5 ohms of resistance for the circuit where your truck...

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

It is the Power Probe ECT2000. I borrowed it from one of my friends who was a mechanic. One end sends a frequency down the suspect circuit then you take the remote and move along that circuit and it points you to the direction of the short.

    Hot/Melted EFI Fuse

I recently just bought a land cruiser and unfortunately it started having the same issue with the efi fuse popping. I used a tool which finds shorts in wires by sending a radio frequency down the line. I was able to locate the short in the wiring harness right next to the egr. Worth taking a...
