After finding the first site, decided to poke around and see if I could find any other sites with some room. Typically I camp south of the Hickory Ridge Lookout tower and was much more familiar with that area, so I headed over there.
Second site is located at 38.995812, -86.304179 About a...
I had some spare time today (Sunday) and wanted to get outside, so I decided to take a little drive down to HNF to checkout potential camping spots for next weekend. I took a few pictures and will post them up here. For those going, would like to get opinions on site selection. Also, curious...
Well that is good timing, my new hot tent just came in today. I won't know my weekend work schedule for another few days, so not committing to the trip yet, but I will try my best to make it. Winter is my absolute favorite time to camp!
ARB does make a deflator especially for beadlock wheels that has a longer stem. It is part # ARB510L It looks very similar to the deflator listed above. I typically use Staun deflators, but had been meaning to order the arb to have also. Went ahead and ordered.
I believe that was us. We got within a couple hundred feet of another 200, then decided to stop to eat. Made it about 950 miles total on Saturday, from Lafayette, IN to just inside the colorado boarder, where we decided to hang it up for the day. Made good time, but pretty tired. Saw 106...
Whew. That was a stressful 5 minutes waiting for the email to pop up after seeing people say they were already registered. Made the cut. Thanks again to everyone who donates so much time putting on this event! Always a great time!
Severe weather sirens just went off here in Ouray. 🚨 Was that a test or for flooding? Don't usually hear thise in Indiana unless there's a Tornado sighted.
Ran Yankee Boy Basin today and ran into Ralph in a White 13 LX at the top. Had some lunch at the small lake up there and took in some nice views. Headed back down and into Ouray. Ran into 3 200s from Alabama in the park when we stopped to air back up. Hope you guys had fun on Imogene and the...
@unclemat and @radman....for what it's worth, my first time wheeling out here in the mountains was when I had my 100 series LX470 with the Hundreds in the Hills group several years ago. It was basically stock at the time with 33 inch BFG Ko tires and running boards removed. I was able to run...
Haha, one of us is following the other. We also contemplated doing Medano, but I've done it several times before, so skipped it this time. If you ever are camping by GSDNP, def go up Medano, there are some nice sites, especially up at the top. There has always been empty spots when I've passed over.
Left our place in Indiana at 6:15am Saturday morning, and made it to La Junta, CO by late Saturday night. Got a good night's rest after that monster drive (about 1100 miles) and spent the day today at Great Sand Dunes NP and making our way across the southern part of the state. In Durango...
