Well, I paid a visit to the shop yesterday and looked at the pump assembly on the bench with the techs. I figured out what they did wrong. They didn’t transfer the spacer for the o-ring from the old pump. This allowed the o-ring to slide down the discharge nipple eventually unseating from...

Yeah it’s possible? At this point it could be anything but I would expect it had something to do with the original work that was done. Anything beyond the tank would have to be a coincidence.

The shop said the same thing about the pump only going one way. They are confident it is installed correctly. I appreciate the offer of pictures. I’m not sure if they’ll help but they couldn’t hurt. I’ll pass them on if you get a chance to snap a few.

Just the sender and pump which might lend itself to an improperly seated pump and pressure leak inside the tank...maybe?

Yeah, it makes no sense. The fuel filter hasn’t been replaced so I’m curious about that but it’s almost like there is a pressure leak inside the tank. There is no fuel smell anywhere.

I could really use some ideas on a problem I’m having with my 09’ LX570 w/ 166k miles. Short version: fuel sending unit was giving false readings at the bottom of the tank but the truck was running fine. The sending unit was replaced along with the fuel pump. ~30 miles later it throws a P0171...

I actually found the two rear pieces at a junk yard today but I might still need the passenger side front if it’s nice. I still have that one but it’s rashed up with busted tabs. Pics would be great if you get a chance. Thanks!
