I'll go back to stock, but this works great. I sure wish that I would have done this first... We ended up towing the truck to a motel and I got it on the road the next morning. I'll be closing this thread soon. Thanks again everyone!

Thanks to everyone that chimed in. I purchased a pump at Autozone, bypassed the mechanical pump, and replaced some fuel line hose. It work great. I had previously wired up a kill switch (to the coil) so tying in to a 'key on' line was easy. Here is the pump:

Yes. The replacement pump did not fit right. I went with a 12v inline low pressure pump. Thank you.
