Here is Mudman, the do it all four wheeler.

A couple of downed trees had to be cut out and removed from the trail. Mud man was instrumental in cutting them with his battery powered chainsaw and winching them out-of-the-way. in the first pic, note Steve with his hands in his pockets supervising.

We decided to forgo Penrose Commons and head straight for seep springs. West of Canyon city, we turned north on County Road 69. There was a ton of snow and muddy tracks. Sam, thanks for adding images and description to the road you describe with the big rocks. Perhaps we might give it a try this Saturday.

Most likely not. There is a station 1 or 2 miles past coyotes on the left. Perhaps you might gas up there and come back to coyotes for the meet up.

You can see from Dave’s pictures that we had a great time. Highway 115 from the Springs to Penrose was snow packed the whole way and a lot of fun. But the trails were tons of fun. We met up at coyotes coffee den and most of us had breakfast there. The scenery was outstanding and there was snow...

We should be back to the south end of shelf Road by 3 o’clock, or 4 o’clock, latest. Some of us will probably run one or two more trails while we’re down there and maybe drive over to skyline Drive west of Canon City, as well. If anyone is in a hurry to get back, they can drive home directly...
