I have flat towed my 40 about 2000 miles in the last year and never had any problems. It is a 79 with 2.5 in. spring lift and a 2 in. shackle lift with 6.0 deg. Shims. I tow it with a 28 ft. motor home. I put trany and t-case in neutral, and plan to tow that way for many more miles. :beer:

Those headers are made by Man-A-Fre and they work great for me and they are close to the oil pan but they don't touch. The flang is the closest part to the oil pan and it is about 1in away. i think your headers must have been hit.

Thank you for all the help it was the blue and white wire that Idave pointed out. But in fixing that problem I apparently must have pulled a wire lose that gives the power to the carburetor solenoid.

The only place I am getting 12v is wear the amp meter plugs in. I am getting 2v from the two top fuses taillights and stop-horn fuse. Every thin else is dead.

i just tried the fuse box and all the fuse arms appear to be solid.

i was driving down the street in my 1979 FJ40 (stock) and all of a sudden my electrical just died out :confused: . Absolutly nothing working. I have a new battery and it works just fine. Cecked all the fuses and they are fine as well. Can anyone tell me were to look to find this problem. Thanks...
